The message read:Having a naughty good time. You’d love it.

There was a winky face at the end of the message and I turned my attention to the picture. It was a group of women, most of which I recognized. Tatum wasn’t in the picture, so I assumed she was the one that took the photo. Faith was front and center, wearing a pink sash that labelled her asThe Brideand they were all clearly laughing as she held something blue in her hand.

What was that?

I squinted my eyes and zoomed in on the picture to figure it out, only to practically choke on the sip I had just taken of my scotch when I recognized it was a giant dildo. My eyes darted around to make sure that no one else was paying attention to what I was looking at and quickly minimized the picture again.

I couldn’t help grinning as I texted Tatum again.I can’t wait to hear the story behind that.

“What are you smiling about?” Scott asked from across the table, and I shoved my phone back into my pocket.

“I was just thinking about kicking your ass and taking your money,” I said, seeing that the previous hand had ended and new one was being dealt.

The party carried on after that, but I kept thinking about Tatum. I couldn’t wait to hear the details of her wild party tomorrow.

CHAPTER9

Tatum

Ifelt like shit the second I woke up. Before I even opened my eyes, I was groaning in pain. My temples were throbbing, and I had an awful taste in my mouth.

As unpleasant as all of that was, my hangover was also the result of a hell of a good time. I’d been nervous when I realized that as the maid of honor, I would have to plan the bachelorette party for Faith. There was a lot of pressure to make it great, and I had spent hours on Pinterest looking at ideas.

Finally, I found the perfect thing to ensure that we all had fun. I’d arranged for a company that sold sex toys and lingerie to come and provide games and freebies for Faith. They also gave us an opportunity to purchase items, and I had ended up with some sexy underwear that would knock Ben on his ass.

Not that I bought it for him. Not at all.

That was what I told myself at least.

We’d had the party here in the hotel, which worked out well because everyone got way too drunk to drive. I’d rented out the same banquet hall where we’d had the welcoming party, even though there were only twelve of us. We did Jell-O shots, snacked on junk food, played ridiculous and dirty games, and eventually ended the evening with a dance party.

It was the most fun I could ever remember having and my cheeks ached from laughing so much.

Sitting up in bed slowly, I was glad that I’d remembered to close the curtains across my window last night. The darkness of the room was a life saver as I walked to the bathroom. I didn’t turn on the light as I cranked on the shower, knowing that it would just hurt my eyes.

I stood there with my head tilted back, letting the hot water wash over me until I started to feel a little better. I went through the motions of washing up and grabbed my towel. When I was done showering, I stepped out and finally flipped on the light, flinching in the harsh brightness. I rummaged in my small bag and toiletries and found a bottle of Ibuprofen. I took two of them and after drying my hair, I got dressed for the day.

Picking up my phone, I was surprised to see the time. It was nearly noon and I had promised Poppy that I would pick up the flowers from the island florist today. She had so much going on with the wedding tomorrow, and I would do whatever I could to help.

After pulling my hair back into a low ponytail, I left the room. I was heading toward the elevator when I spotted Ben coming from the other direction.

“Morning,” I said as we reached the elevator at the same time.

“Rough night?” he asked with a knowing smirk. “You look like hell.”

I grunted in response as I pushed the DOWN button. “Thanks a lot.”

The doors in front of us slid open, revealing an empty elevator. I stepped inside and Ben followed behind me.

“I didn’t mean to upset you.”

I just glared at him as the elevator doors closed.

“I really didn’t mean it like that.” He moved closer, putting an arm around my waist, and I relaxed into him despite myself. “I’m just worried about you. Besides, you looking like hell is still better than any other woman on this island.”

I finally smiled as I looked up at him, enjoying his touch and the heat of his body. “You’re a real charmer, you know that?”

“I try.” He winked at me.
