Soon, our plane was soaring through the air, carrying us to another country as Colt and I toasted to adventure with glasses of champagne the same polite air hostess brought us. He took out his laptop after that, and I reclined my chair all the way, planning on reading but falling asleep almost immediately.
Waking up to a gentle hand on my shoulder, I opened my eyes to find Colt’s face grinning down at me from about a foot away. “Rise and shine, sleeping beauty. I left you as long as I could, but the captain has turned on the fasten seatbelt signs and we’re starting our descent into Paris.”
“What?” I asked, alarmed as I reached the button to put my seat back in its upright position. “We’re in Paris already? How the heck did that happen?”
“Planes travel considerably faster than cars and we have been flying for a while. You just slept through it.”
I huffed out a breath, but then I caught sight of the freaking Eiffel Tower out my window and excitement took the place of my frustration over having missed the whole darn flight. We hadn’t even touched down in France yet, and it was already something incredible to behold—even from the air.
When we arrived at the beautiful old hotel where we were staying, my brain was already on information overload. I was brimming with excitement, unable to believe that I was in a whole different freaking country and in such a famous city.
“Do you want to rest for a while before we head out?” Colt asked once we were checked into our room and I was staring out the picture windows, marveling at the sights I could see even from here.
My head shook of its own accord. “No, I’m fine. Let’s just freshen up, hit the town, and explore.”
Since this was the first time I’d been anywhere, I was more than eager to see what I’d been missing now that I was here. Plus, I didn’t want to have Teddy’s regrets about wasting the first few days in the hotel.
Colt laughed, handing over my vanity bag as he swept a hand out toward the bathroom. “Okay, then. You go first. Then while you’re getting dressed, I’ll take a shower. We should be ready to leave at around the same time that way.”
“Colt Eldridge, are you accusing me of taking too much time making myself look beautiful for you?”
“You look beautiful without doing a thing, except for maybe brushing your teeth. Your breath is awful.”
I swatted at his shoulder playfully and called back at him over my shoulder as I took the vanity bag and breezed into the bathroom. “Speak for yourself, mister. I’ll be done in a few.”
Racing through a shower as fast as I could, not only to prove a point to him but also because I really couldn’t wait to get out there, I tucked a towel around my body and danced around Colt when he reached for it as I came out of the bathroom. “No funny business. We have exploring to do.”
“The city’s been out there for centuries. It can wait another few hours.” His gaze burned as he raked it over my naked body when I dropped the towel.
“No, it can’t. It might’ve been here for centuries, but I haven’t been here for that long, nor am I staying for that long, so chop chop.”
He released a big, pretend sigh, but I knew he was excited about showing me around and it turned out I was right when he emerged from the shower less than five minutes later and dressed even faster. I was just tying my hair by the time he was done, holding a hand out toward me and looking so handsome in his casual jeans and T-shirt again.
We wasted no time leaving the room, then opted to stroll along the streets instead of taking a cab. Colt surprised me with pre-booked tickets to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and we skipped the lines of people waiting as we rode to the very top.
It was something out of a movie, and when he put his arms around me and kissed me at what felt like the top of the world instead of just a tower, it was so romantic that I thought my heart might burst from it.And to think, I almost stayed in Rockdale instead of coming here with him.
For the rest of the day, we walked around hand in hand, doing some sightseeing and grabbing bites to eat from street vendors instead of sitting down at any of the cafés. Colt was constantly touching me somehow, kissing me and getting me all worked up until finally, after a quick dinner, we headed back to our room.
“We could’ve gone to see Moulin Rouge,” I objected as he dragged me into our room, but instead of responding, he pushed me up against the door as soon as it closed and sealed his mouth over mine, murmuring between heated kisses.
“Moulin Rouge will be there tomorrow night. I’ve been waiting for this for two days, and I’m not waiting any longer. I want you, Em. Now.”
Electricity sparked through me, and I looped my arms around his neck as I moaned into his mouth. “Well, I can’t argue with that. If you want me, take me. I’m right here with you, Colt. And I’m not going anywhere.”
“Thank God for that.” He groaned. His hips rocked into mine as he peeled my shirt off over my head and left me in my bra when his hand dove underneath the waistband of my jeans. “Fuck, yes. You’re already so wet for me, Emma. Are you going to come for me, baby?”
“If you keep talking like that, you can bet your hat on it,” I murmured between heavy breaths, closing my eyes and letting my head fall back against the door.
Yep. Coming to Paris with him was the best damn decision I’ve ever made.

COLT
“Ican’t get enough of you,” I whispered against her swollen lips when I woke her up for the third time that night.
I was already as hard as a rock, desperate to sink into her again even though we’d only drifted off to sleep about two hours ago. It was ridiculous, but I felt like I would spontaneously combust if I didn’t get inside her again soon. Very fucking soon.
