“Emilia?” he asked, his voice whisper-soft.
“What?”
“Go out with me.”
I let out a sigh. Stubborn man. And I must be stupid, because apparently, I liked them stubborn.
My shoulders sagged. I didn’t have the energy to fight him today. And Jensen was a smart businessman. He knew he had worn me down.
“Okay.”
Yet from the look on his face, he looked as if he hadn’t been expecting my answer. A small smile overtook his face, and my breath caught from the light in his eyes.
He leaned over and kissed my forehead.
I took in a large gulp of air.
“I look forward to it,” he said, his hot breath fanning across my skin. I almost threw away my pride and begged him to stay. Luckily, I kept my composure. I watched as he walked out my front door, locking it before pulling the door closed all the way, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
