He nodded.
‘As nice as this?’
A smile made his lips tilt off kilter. ‘Different.’
‘Ah. A man of mystery.’
‘Always.’
‘Tell me this, then.’ She turned to face him, and he capitalised on her shift, pulling her closer, tucking his hands around her bottom and keeping them there. Her eyes dropped closed for an instant, because the sensation and intimacy of it was almost too much.
‘Sí?’
‘Do you actually play the piano, or is it a prop to impress guests?’
He grinned. ‘Do you think I’m the kind of man who gives a crap what anyone thinks of me?’
She tilted her head to the side, considering that. ‘No.’
‘So you already have your answer.’
‘When did you learn?’
She was making conversation simply because she was nervous, but at the same time she found she was truly interested in understanding him. It should have been a warning, but Sienna was beyond the point of heeding those. ‘At school.’
Another thing she knew about Alejandro—he brushed aside questions he didn’t want to answer. He acted as though they didn’t matter, yet that was a tip that they really did.
‘Do you enjoy it?’
He considered that. ‘I suppose so. I never thought about it in those terms. It’s simply something I do.’
‘I’d like to hear you play.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I imagined you playing when I walked into your sky palace and saw the piano, and, I have to admit, my imagination found the image kind of sexy.’
He laughed. ‘I see.’
‘What do you play?’ She lifted a hand to his hair when she found she could no longer stop herself from touching him. Her fingers ran through its length, her eyes following the gesture, then her hand fell to his shoulder, warm and smooth, strong and fascinating.
‘Classical music.’
‘Not rock?’
He shook his head. ‘Not often.’
‘That’s strange. You definitely strike me as more Metallica than Mozart.’
‘Perhaps in some ways.’
‘A penchant for black leather pants?’
‘On some people.’
She looked away, cheeks flaming. He wasn’t talking about her.Leather pants would make her bottom look the size of Alaska, and then some.
He caught her chin, drawing her face back towards him. ‘You don’t approve?’
