Amber’s eyebrows rose. ‘I’m serious, Aurelio. We can make a wonderful life here with our child.’ When he didn’t nod his agreement she persisted. ‘I put a lot of work into that marketing plan. I don’t want it to go to waste.’
‘What’s a marketing plan compared with our whole future?’ His words were serious but Amber caught the twinkle in his midnight eyes. Suspicion dawned.
‘Aurelio, are you deliberately provoking an argument? You are! But why?’
His smile turned smug as they passed a couple of people who watched them bemused as Aurelio hugged her even closer.
‘Because I love your passion when you’re aroused,anima mio.I intend to reap the rewards.’
‘Aurelio De Laurentis, you’re impossible!’ But she was grinning, already looking forward to sharing that passion with him. Besides, how could she resist him when he called herhis soul? ‘It’s a good thing I love you so much.’
He stopped in the middle of the path. ‘It is. Believe me, I know just how lucky I am.’
