Liam staggers back, his hand coming up to his lips. “You fucking hit me!”
“What is going on out here?” My homeroom teacher exits the classroom and glares at me before turning to Liam. “What happened?”
“She punched me!”
“Yeah, but he—”
Mr. Winters holds up his hand. “Erika! Go straight to the principal’s office now.”
“Are you kidding me?” I snap. “Did you hear what he said?”
“I don’t care what he said.” The homeroom teacher looks ready to throttle me. Are you fucking kidding me? Brett has so many under his thumb, but so does Liam, clearly.
At least my migraine is starting to go away. Maybe anger is the key because I am so angry right now. If I could, I would hit Liam a few more times. He deserves it.
“You need to go see the principal right now,” the homeroom teacher says, shifting to stand between Liam and me. “We do not tolerate violence here at Elk Grove Academy.”
I snort and roll my eyes, thinking back to what Brett had put me through. I’m sick and tired of these guys and this entire place. How is it that rich guys are able to do whatever the fuck that they want without any consequences?
Speaking of Brett, he wasn’t lying when he said Mr. Winters is a dick.
“I’ll go,” I say, and I blow past them because I’m not about to hang around with them any longer.
Maybe I shouldn’t have come to school after all today. Should’ve just stayed beneath the overhang and try to sleep away the migraine. Instead, I came here and face bullshit, and I haven’t even seen one of the Mutineers yet.
I stomp away, heading for the office, not knowing what the hell to expect from the principal of a school that allows bullies to run rampant.
