CHAPTER10

During my last class, no one will look at me. No one talks to me. Normally, that wouldn’t bother me in the least, but it makes me wonder that word is spreading already that the Mutineers hate me. It certainly doesn’t help matters that Andrea, the only one who has talked to me decently, isn’t in any of my classes. I haven’t seen her at all today.

Finally, the day ends, and I grab my books. I don’t know about leaving everything here. I don’t think I want to do that. The chances are far too high that the Mutineers will go out of their way to learn which locker is mine.

That’s when I spy the fries I tucked inside. They’re a bit gross, having sat so long, but I inhale them anyhow. So damn hungry. Such a terrible diet. Two meals tomorrow. One had to be a real meal. Not this crap.

By now, most everyone has left already, and I feel so happy to leave this place behind. I have a ton of homework to do, but hopefully, it won’t take me much longer than a few hours. Then, I can either walk or cruise around to find a job.

My backpack is heavy, but there’s a spring in my step as I head to where I parked my bike. When I parked in the lot this morning, there hadn’t been any other motorcycles. I hadn’t thought much about that, considering I arrived before just about everyone except for the teachers.

Now, though, there are four other bikes, and of course, wouldn’t you know it, but the four of them belong to the Mutineers.

I turn to walk away. They haven’t spotted me yet, and the last thing I want is for them to do anything to my bike. I swear to God, if they do anything to my baby, I am going to land them in the hospital. I don’t care if that means they’ll put me six feet under.

Or maybe I would be the one to do that to them instead.

“Isn’t that new fish?” Corey asks.

New fish? That’s what new inmates are called.

Apt enough, I guess. This place has become a prison for me. Surprised Shane wasn’t the one to call me that first, though.

“Don’t worry, boys,” I say as I whirl around, smiling and winking at Brett, knowing sayingboyswould irritate him. “My legs are closed. If you smell something fishy… Not me.”

"So you say," Shane says. He had been leaning against his bike, but now, he stands. He walks with his swagger over to me. "I think that fishy smell might be your arousal."

“And just what might be arousing me?” I ask innocently.

He leans down toward me. His hair is a gorgeous shade of red, and I notice that his eyes aren't as dark brown as mine.

“What are you thinking about?” he asks.

“I’m surprised your eyes aren’t darker.”

He lifts his eyebrows.

“You know. To match the demon inside.”

“If you think I’m a demon, you would think right.” He lets out a dark chuckle and steps back.

Well, that wasn’t so bad.

“Why are you here?” Brett asks.

I say nothing.

“Don’t act like a cat caught your tongue,” Brett mocks. “You said you aren’t a lesbian, so your tongue hasn’t been licking pussy lately.”

“Has yours?” I counter. “Because I’m guessing you’re the kind of guy who expects his girl to give him head all the time, but he never bothers to give her oral in return.”

Tyler snorts.

Brett gives him a look and then turns his murderous expression on me.

I swallow hard. “Ah—”

“You’re the whore who wants a cock in your pussy, in your ass, and in your mouth at the same time. Want one for each hand too?” he asks, sauntering up to me.
