She walks off, and I can’t keep my composure anymore.

“What the fuck was that?” I demand.

“Oh, get off your damn high horse, Katie. The world doesn’t revolve around you. You have no right to be so upset. You don’t. Don’t look at me like that.”

I’m too angry and upset to say anything. I just shoot daggers at him, and if looks could kill, he would be dead a hundred times over.

"I bet you were already thinking about my friends, weren't you? When you suggested we could not be exclusive? What is it? You hated whenever Allie was brought up. Were you upset that you can't be the first one to be with all of us?"

“I never—”

“You would go out with Ace if he asked you out, wouldn’t you?”

“We’re together—”

“We aren’t,” he says flatly. “Not anymore.”

“I still won’t.”

“Why? In the hopes we’ll get back together? I am going to come back here at ten.”

“I don’t want to break up.”

“It doesn’t matter what you want. When one person says a relationship is over, it’s over. It takes two to date—”

“We can dance,” I say. “Tango—”

“—but it takes one to end things, and it’s over.”
