“What’s going on with Rob?” I ask casually. Or I ask as casually as I can., given my racing heartbeat.

“Nothing. I have to get to work, so if you aren’t going to be quiet…”

“Zac, just tell me what he said.”

“He would’ve texted you if he wanted you to know.”

“Whatever he sent, it clearly bothers you, so just tell me.”

“No.”

He cracks open a book, clearly intent on ignoring me, but I can't have that. I go to grab his phone, but he yanks it away from me, and I tumble, falling on top of him. He rolls us over, so he's on top, and I stare up at his soft brown eyes, feeling the weight of his body on mine, and I swallow hard.

“You aren’t going to get my phone,” he says.

“You can have it,” I whisper. “I just wanted…”

“To stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.”

He stares down at me, and I refuse to look at his lips. He’s so close to me. So very close. I would hardly have to lift my head at all for us to kiss.

Not that I want to kiss him.

I shouldn’t want to kiss him.

So instead of staring at his lips, I peer into his eyes, and honestly, that isn’t much better because a girl could get lost in those milk chocolate eyes of his.

“I want to make sure Rob’s all right,” I protest.

“Then you can talk to him. Go on.”

Still on top of me, he leans over to the right and grabs my phone. In doing so, he rubs himself against me, and I squeeze my eyes shut. Not again. I am not getting turned on by another one of the guys.

But I am.

And right when I think I might not be the only one who is turned on, that I can start to feel something, I push on his shoulders enough for him to move to the side. In no time at all, I’ve grabbed my things, and I can’t leave fast enough.

Zac doesn’t try to stop me, but when I look over my shoulder, he’s sitting up, watching me go.
