Fuming mad now, I call Robyn. “Hey,” I say as soon as she answers. “Are you back on campus yet?”

“Nope,” she says cheerfully. “I decided not to come back until tomorrow morning. Sorry about that. I’m sure you can find someone else to have a late dinner with.”

“That’s not… Yeah, don’t worry about it.”

“Hey, is everything okay? You sound a bit off.”

“I’m fine. Must just be the phone.”

“If you’re sure…”

“I’ll let you go,” I say.

She chuckles. “Breakfast tomorrow?”

“I’ll let you know. I’m kinda beat.”

“Text me by seven if you want to. If you don’t, that’ll be my answer for breakfast. See ya tomorrow!”

I end the call and take all of two steps away from my car in the direction of the nearest gas station when a bike pulls up. He parks in front of my car and shakes his head at me.

“Where are you off to?” he asks, genuinely confused, his brow furrowed.

He has a gas can in his hand. I can’t believe it. He returned with gas for me after all.

“Why couldn’t you have done that in the first place?” I grumble.

“I had to take care of something first,” he mumbles.

His cheeks. Are they turning pink? It’s not easy to tell because it’s getting late and dark out, but I think he’s blushing, and I am, too, when I realize that the thing he had to take care of was his erection, the one I caused.

“Did you now?” I can’t help grinning.

He narrows his eyes before shrugging.

“Do you feel better now at least?” I ask.

“To some extent.”

I lift my eyebrows. “Only to some extent?”

He shrugs again. “What can I say? It’s not satisfying by myself.”

“No? Poor baby.”

“I’m not all that poor.”

“When it comes to money? If that’s the case, then when haven’t you fixed the gas gauge on your bike?”

“Maybe because I’m not all that worried about it.”

“Why not?”

“I wasn’t referring to money,” he says.

“Then what were you referring to? Not poor with what?” I ask. Then it hits me. “Oh. Women. That what you mean?”

“I was rich when I was with you,” he says.
