“Baby, we live here. You can do it when we get back—besides, that’s the problem. We live where we work. We’re supposed to be finding a house. It’s been months. Our old houses have been replaced and sold, and we’re still living in the damn clubhouse. I found a couple new listings that might be good.”
“Okay, okay.” She rose onto her toes and kissed his chin. “Let me finish a couple things and talk to Jordan. Then let’s go house hunting. Again.” As she stepped back, she added, “It’s a lot of work, rebuilding a life.”
He caught her hand. “Not rebuilding. Starting fresh.”
Smiling, she came back to hold him again. “Rising from the ashes.”
“Born again.”
He kissed her.
