Even with my eyes closed and all of my attention on Asra, I can tell exactly what he’s doing. Like I can anticipate his movements and thoughts, we move as a team,no words necessary. His emotions fuel my own. That’s how it's always been, the bond stronger when we’re experiencing something extreme, like now. One of the perks of being twins, we work best together. We’re meant to be together, always.

His hand slides up her thigh, mine slides down her neck, to her torso. As I kiss her, his lips meet her shoulder.

She tenses.

We both feel it.

Fuck.

I pull away enough to look in her eyes. “You’re in charge here, Shades. You determine the pace, how far this goes.” As much as I want to take over or let Brendan call the shots, it has to be her decision. We won’t pressure her, not when going too fast might only push her away.

She bites her bottom lip while my chest heaves. Her eyes search mine, looking for the truth in my words.

“Say the word, and we stop, baby girl. Your call,” Brendan whispers into her ear from behind her.

Turning her head, she looks at my brother while I hold my breath. She doesn’t move. Doesn’t say a single thing. Her eyes simply search his.

Seconds tick by like hours. Still, she doesn’t move.

I keep my hand locked on her torso, Brendan’s on her hip. Like statues, we wait.

The air turns thicker, a heavy stew saturating my lungs with the sweet scent of jasmine and flowers, chocolate and bonfires. The tension only amplifies. Her soft curves beneath my fingertips, her body pressed against mine, her leg still draped over my thigh, it all amplifies my need.

Before I can stop myself, I’m leaning closer to her. My nose buried in her hair, I breathe in deep. “What do you want, Shades?” I kiss her neck, her cheek.

Brendan kisses her forehead, then the tip of her nose.

She doesn’t answer. Not with words.

Her thigh slips off mine as she rolls over onto her back. Sandwiched between us, she reaches up, clasping Brendan’s chin. He groans as she closes the distance between them, her lips meeting his.

Each with a hand on her chin, we alternate turning her head and kissing her. Keeping her hands on our bare chests, she doesn’t move. Her hands don’t stray, her back no longer arches, and she’s not grinding against me, moaning as her nails dig into my back. Yet, she’s here, kissing us.

Brendan glances up, his eyes meeting mine as he tilts her chin toward him. I nod, feeling it, too.

She’s not ready. Not to have both of us. But, she’s still here.

I adjust myself, settling in, then tilt her chin toward me. Her lips connect with mine, the kiss just as needy and demanding as before. Yet her body never moves.

Still, she’s ours.

As the night wears on, our kisses grow longer. While one of us kisses her, the other trails kisses along her neck and shoulders. She whimpers, her chest heaving as she takes turns making out with both of us.

I’m ready to bust at the seams but her hands never stray; she never takes the next step. So neither do we.

Eventually her eyes close. Her body relaxes. Then everything tightens and jerks out in a sudden movement.

We both freeze.

“You all right, Little Girl?”

“What do you need?” I ask, both of us watching her like a hawk as she jerks again. “Do you need to go to the hospital, again?”

“Just . . . Just hold me.”

“All night long, baby girl. Anything you need. But, if you puke in my truck, your ass is going back to the clinic.”

She smiles at Brendan’s comment, eyes still closed as she snuggles in closer to him.
