THE BED IS SOFT beneath me as Blade rests his hand on my neck. He leans down and presses our lips together. I hum into the kiss, but only until his hand starts to slide down the front of me. By the time he reaches the waistband of my jeans and goes to unbutton them, I stop him.
“What are you doing?”
He smirks. “Just trying to have a little fun.”
I shake my head, noticing my roommate is only right across the room. “Kennedy is in here. We're not alone.”
“So,” he replies. “We're covered by a blanket. She can't even see anything.”
His mouth moves to my neck as his hand tries again. I grab his wrist and go to pull it away, but he doesn't let me. After a few seconds of it becoming a little too much, I'm done trying to be discreet.
“Blade, stop.”
Kennedy looks over at us, and Blade sees we have her attention. He withdraws his hand and sits up.
“Fine,” he mutters and looks down at his phone. “We should get going anyway. The guys are waiting.”
“I was kind of thinking I might skip tonight? I have an essay I have to get done.”
Raising one brow, he levels me with a look. “So, you're turning me down and now ditching me, too?”
I sigh heavily, giving in. “No. Of course, not.”
“Good,” he says. “Fix your make up and meet me in the car.”
He salutes Kennedy who gives him a fake smile and then he's gone. Once the door closes behind him, she looks over at me with worry in her eyes.
“You know, if you wanted me to leave, you could have just said so.”
I shake my head. “I didn't, that's the thing.”
She closes her computer. “Is everything all right? You know you don't have to go with him tonight.”
“And deal with his attitude because of it?” I laugh dryly. “No, thanks. I think he's just in a mood.”
She smirks. “Oh yeah. Blue balls will do that to a guy.”
Now that manages to make me laugh. “If he has blue balls, it's because he doesn't know how to keep his hands to himself. I've given him no indication that I'm anywhere near ready for that.”
“You were ready for it with Zayn.”
Ugh. “I was ready for a lot with Zayn, but part of my problem is expecting to feel the same things for Blade. I like him, but I'm just not there yet.”
I finish touching up my makeup and grab my sweatshirt.
“Love you! Don't wait up.”
WE'RE ALL HANGING OUT at Ray's, but I'm starting to wonder why Blade brought me in the first place. All he's done since we got here is completely ignore me. Either he's playing video games with the guys, or they're talking about something I know nothing about. Regardless, I would have been better off staying home to do my essay.
The familiar sound of a motorcycle pulls up, and my heart starts to pound. Blade tosses the controller to Garrett and leans back on the couch.
“You guys play. I've got better shit to do.”
He wraps his arm around me while using his
free hand to caress my cheek. Just like that, it's like I'm the most important person in the room again. Sure, he's probably just doing it because Zayn's here now, and he knows about the other day. Apparently, he was watching us out the window and saw him kiss me. Still, I can't exactly complain about having his attention again.
The two of us kiss, and I giggle as he tickles my side, only to be interrupted by someone clearing their throat. We pull away to see Zayn standing there. His AC/DC shirt reminds me that I still haven't given him back his other one, but I don't think I ever will. I don't want to.
