“Are you going to pull away again if I try?”

Her eyes widen and she shakes her head, her neck arching when I slide my tongue over her lips, a moan escaping her, shooting straight into a part of me that I didn’t even know I had. When she feels my bulge in between her thighs, her gaze abruptly goes down, a dazed look on her face but I don’t want her to be looking at my crotch.

I want to see that amazed flicker in her eyes, right before I claim her mouth and I tip her chin up, slanting my lips over hers. This time she doesn’t pull away, this time she presses herself close to me but her mouth is shy and I force her lip open, swirling my tongue, crushing her against me.

The temptation to close my eyes is strong but the temptation to watch her like this is stronger. Her features aren’t controlled and her own eyes are sensually shut and I let out a groan when she accidentally scratches my neck with her nails from eagerness.

She feels so good to me that I cup her between her legs, manhandling her a little to let her know she’s mine but it makes her twitch and she tweaks away from me, breathing harshly.

“Why did you do that for?” she says with a reddening face, reminding me she’s never been touched that way before and I straighten.

“Because I can.” I stroke a silken, hair strand behind her ear. “You see, sweetheart, out here we can both do whatever we want and be whoever we want. No rules.”

Her mouth pulls from hesitation. “Sounds risky, Dom. Don’t know how I feel about that.”

“What you feel doesn’t matter. What matters is how your pussy feels.” Her eyes turn round in shock. “And I bet it feels good out here, doesn’t it?”

Nodding and feeling like I’m about to pool out on the chair I whisper, “Why does it feel good?”

“Because it’s just you and me,” he replies, “nobody else, just the way it should be. Do you understand how important it is that you don’t try to ruin this?”

I don’t want to ruin anything, I’m scared of messing this up and all I want is Dom’s mouth on mine...As if reading my mind, he pushes me to fall like a ladder against his chest and this time I automatically take him between my lips when his tongue thrusts against mine. He owns me with his kiss, tugs at my heartstrings and makes me cravey for his attentions.

“You taste like dreamland, sweetheart,” he groans, sounding delirious, “won’t ever be able to let you go now...”

My body freezes and I break off the kiss, slowly to not throw Dom off but his eyes narrow anyway. He moves to pull me right back but I softly shake my head, needing to think fast even though I barley can think. He hijacks my brain, turns me into mush and I need to get it together. But it’s easier said than done.

“What’s wrong?” he asks carefully, clearly not happy about this and I pretend to be cold.

“S...Slade,” I stutter with my arms around me, “feels like there’s a chill in the air. Maybe you should light the fireplace?”

A slow, unnerving smile crosses his handsome but gravelly face. “Slade? I’m Slade now?”

He’s not amused. He doesn’t like this sudden change in me and his eyes are like slits.

I shrug my body, murmuring something about us needing more logs and Dom straightens to his full height, casting an impressive shadow.

“There’s only a few left in the shed,” he says. “Need to chop some more.”

I stand in the corner like a scolded cat, my fingers itching to dig into the hollows and bumps of his back muscles. They move under his lickable skin, letting me know just how strong he is. Without another word he opens the door and a warm breeze enters the cabin. I lied about it being cold, obviously it’s hot out but his talk about never letting me go made me nervous.

I can’t deal with that, especially when the words come from someone as authoritative as Dom. Protests aren’t really his thing but being held here while Melody is missing, is not my thing either. What if she sends me a secret message to my old address, what if she secretly comes by looking for me and I’m not there?

Walking out on the porch, I look on as Dom picks up the axe, positioning a log and I grimace when he uses his shoulder in a way that has to hurt. But if it does pain him, he doesn’t show it, his eyes hard and his mouth grim as if we didn’t just share a perfect kiss.

He’s probably angry and confused about why I didn’t give him more but if I do then I’m scared I’ll never want to leave. Scared I’ll forget about Melody. She’s all I have, after all. Except for Dom...

Turning his face to me, Dom grits. “Come on, get over here. I need to teach you how to chop wood.” When I hesitate, he asks, “Worried you’ll ruin your manicure?”

Looking at my chapped, nasty nails, I mutter, “What manicure?”

A smile crosses his face when I stomp over to him, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. I disappointed him by not fawning over him and giving into his every whim like he wants me to and to be honest...I hate disappointing him.

Taking a deep breath, I step inside when he opens up his arms to me and I stand to lean against his chest, gasping silently when he cages me in.
