My lips curve in a smile. “Because I think your baby is coming.”

Cupping my face he asks, “Are you sure?”

Nodding as tears fill my eyes, I laugh, “Yes, I’m sure, we need to go...”

Helping me out of the chair, he bends down to pick me up and carry me to our car but I stop him, gasping before letting out a content sigh.

“Oh look, it’s snowing!”

He stops for a second, looking out at the thick, twirling snowflakes that forcefully come revolving down, making the world look picture-book perfect.

I smile when he whispers, “I love you, little ballerina. Never forget. If I didn’t know you, I would have longed all my life for you without even knowing what I am longing for.”

I know what he means. That ache deep inside your body, that calling from within, the chains that try to pull you towards your other half. It only works if you let it and I am so happy that we were both fearless enough to let it happen.

Our lips meet in a kiss, his lips still cold and hard, mine still warm and soft but together they are exactly as the should be. Together we’re classical, yet unconventional. We can’t be compared, our love story is our own, brutal and beautiful and the real life mirror image of our dreams.

The End
