Page 18 of Tracking Her Down

Writhing against me, she lets out ragged breaths, our tongues thrusting against one another and I let out a low bellow when I feel her squeeze me. Seconds later, her small muscles shudder and she lets me fill her up.

With the way she repeatedly cries my name when she comes still ringing in my ear, I pull her into my lap, trying to feed her the dinner she made for us.

But all she does is shake her head and sometimes my patience runs out with her because I want her nourished. I insist but she still shakes her head.

“Not hungry for that. Not anymore.”

Deciding to give up, I trail my finger down her spine, rasping, “Something else on your mind?”

Turning to look at me, she nods. Mischief used to occupy her mind previously but now all that mischief belongs to me.

“You,” she breathes, rolling herself across my lap and the temperature rises in our kitchen to a scorching degree. “Always just you.”

Raye-Four years later

Standing under a tree, I try to pretend that I know what the wives of Bill and Lance are saying and I smile at them, taking a sip out of my drink. I’m guessing they’re talking about an upcoming holiday but all I personally can think about is Trent.

We’re at the back of our house, the stars shining on the sky and we’ve left the door to our house open and music streams out of the rooms and windows, reaching our ears. Trent is standing in a ring by the shore, together with his friends.

He’s holding a beer in his hands, laughing and it makes my stomach tingle. He’s as perfect as the day I met him. The lines around in his face a little more protruding and he’s put on some more muscles after constantly having to carry our twins around.

Trent must’ve caught me staring because he tenses, turning his head slightly to the side and his eyes catch mine. The flames from the fire we lit play over his face, casting a golden sheen over his features and I bite my lip.

“Excuse me,” I murmur and the ladies raise their brows but they decide to follow me, wanting to go to their husbands too.

As soon as I’m within close range, Trent wraps me up in his arms giving me a kiss on my head. He smells of beer and heat and that special something that’s just him. Sighing, I lean my head against shoulder as we watch the flames.

Our baby girl and boy wave to us from the other side of the garden. They both look so much like Trent it’s almost a little annoying and they’re busy being entertained by Trent’s parents and their cousins. Trent has a huge family, eight siblings in total and I’m crazy about them all, loving it whenever they come over.

“Still can’t get over the names you gave your twins,” Bill says with his arm around his wife and he shakes his head. “Helios and Alectrona, I mean....”

“Shush it,” his wife says, slapping him on his chest. “I like them.”

I give her a soft smile. “They’re named after sun deities.” I glance up at Trent and he peers down at me. “Seemed only appropriate since their father is a sun god.”

Chuckles erupt.Burn.

Trent grins, looking pretty cocky but I love that look on him. “Did that sting, Bill? Did it?”

“It kinda did,” Bill says, pretending to be envious and Lance laughs. Then they both glance curiously at us but they don’t say anything and I feel a growl drum in Trent’s chest. He doesn’t like when they look at me for too long because he still hasn’t gotten over what happened in that bar, years ago.

Sometimes I never think he will but I just roll with the possessive side of him. So far, it has served me good. He treats me the way all women deserve to be treated.

Every day he treats me like a man dying of thirst and I’m the last drop of water in his palm. I’m cherished. I’m his everything. Our small family is his everything.

Both Helios and Alectrona look at him as their hero, their tiny fists never failing to reach for him, making my eyes teary and my heart feel lighter than a feather.

When the fire starts crackling in front of us, I shudder. Trent tenses, bending his mouth to my ear, his stubble tickling my cheek and he rasps,

“Sneak away with me now, sunray or I’m going to be a pain in the ass all night and embarrass you in front of our guests.”

Laughing, I wrap my arms around his neck, finding his mouth with mine and then we try to sneak away as best as we can up to the house. He knows how much I need him and he knows exactly how to satiate me.

His love is sweltering, scorching, blistering. His love is hot. And it burns, burns, burns.

The End
