“Can you confirm this is the correct address where Mrs. Singleton lives?”

Phoebe opens the file and checks the address. “It is.”

“And now we wait.”

“We’re not going to go in there and confront her?”

I shake my head. “Not our job. We were hired to follow her.”

My stomach rumbles and I realize I forgot to eat breakfast. I blame Lola for distracting me with her cuteness. No worries. I’m prepared. I reach over and open the glove compartment and grab a protein bar. “You want one?” She shakes her head no. “I usually don’t bring drinks as finding somewhere to pee is often a pain in the butt.”

“You don’t think she’ll see us out here and call the police?”

“Nah. The windows are tinted, and most people are oblivious anyway.” As was I when Aiden caught the person trailing us last week. Which reminds me I still need to get with Wally and have him teach me how to know when I’m being followed.

“The garage door is opening.”

I grab my camera and wait as I watch the door open.

“She can’t possibly be driving, can she? She’s supposed to be blind,” Phoebe whispers as we watch a car back out of the driveway.

“We don’t know it’s her.” I take a few pictures and then wait until the car starts forward, so I can capture a picture of the driver. “Get the file out. There should be a picture.”

Phoebe gasps and then shows me the picture.

“It’s her all right. Looks like someone won’t be getting her insurance payday after all.” I hand her my camera. “Here, hold this.”

“We’re still going to follow her?”

“Yep,” I say as I switch on the engine. “We were paid to follow her, so that’s what we’ll do. Fingers crossed she hits a drive-through because I’m starving.”

“You’re always hungry.”

“True story.”
