He nodded. “I’m just looking for an investor over there. I’m probably flying out at the end of the week.”

“Everything’s back to the way it was. In no time, the tourists will be back,” I said.

“For sure. Look I’ve got a few billion in pharma shares that last time I looked have doubled.”

Luke’s eyes widened.

“I could easily draw a few billion out, but I want to keep it there for my children.” His eyes glowed with sincerity.

I returned his warm smile. “I’m doing exceptionally well.”

“I’m not worried about you. You’ve always been the hard worker. You’ve made me proud. No prouder than when you received that Medal of Valour. A first for a Lovechilde.”

A lump grew in my throat, and Theadora, who could read me well, squeezed my hand.

“I worry about Ethan and Savvie. They’ve both been indulged all their lives. They’ve never worked.”

“Ethan’s got a project on the go. He’s building a spa by the duck pond.”

My father nodded. “So he tells me.”

After dessert and some light chatter, helping to clear the air of family issues, we hugged and left for Mayfair.
