“You’re safe now. Inhale and then slowly exhale, malyshka. That’s it. Breathe with me.”
I don’t know what the fuck I am doing. All I know is I found her, I’m keeping her.
I’m probably digging an early grave of my own, but fuck it. Some things are worth dying for and I just placed her at the top of my very short list.
I shouldn’t look but I can’t help but notice the swell of her perfect breasts and the outline of taut nipples pushing at the material of her bikini top as she inhales and exhales with me.
I pick up my shirt from beside me and drape it over her shoulders. It’s not much but somehow we managed to not get it wet in all the commotion. It will have to do until I get her back to my yacht. There I can warm her properly.
Every brain cell, every fucking neuron fires off telling me to keep my eyes averted but there’s no fighting the allure of a siren I’m told. Right this second, I’m proving the truth of hundreds of years of lure. Scorching waves of blood crash through me and there’s only one direction for it to go. Straight to my cock. It swells with lust and I groan when the primal need to feel her warmth around my length consumes my senses.
She scoots deeper into my arms and fuck me. The hold on my control grows taut. As a mafia boss, there are not too many things that give me a contact high anymore. Years of living a life of crime and endless wealth have tapped me out.
Except with this complete stranger. How can she make me feel alive again?
She’s too shocked to fight me when I tilt her chin up and stare into her bloodshot eyes.
“Look at me,” I coax gently, complete and utterly perplexed by how my body reacts to hers.
When our gazes lock my pulse hits sixty in an instant. She’s the most beautiful siren ever captured by a pirate. Gold flecks glitter in her hair and the green of her jewel-colored eyes are only dulled by the fear clawing from their bright depths. Seeing this stranger afraid makes the primal beast inside me roar with fury. How could anyone want to hurt such a precious creature?
“Shh,” I soothe her when silent tears start to stream down her cheeks.
“Thank you,” she murmurs through trembling lips. “I really did not want those men to be the last ugly mugs I saw before dying.”
She’s sassy. Good. It means she’s resilient and strong.
Calming really isn’t a character trait in my arsenal, but I want to know what this beauty did to merit a watery grave, and playing nice is about the only way to get those answers. What was once my enemy’s problem just might be my solution. I have almost given up on finding one to help take over the East’s territory and knock them out for good.
I cup the back of her head and lower my lips to the shell of her ear as Gray cranks the motors and points us in the direction of home.
My voice is soft and gentle unlike the beast prowling inside me. “Rest easy, krasivaya sirena. There’s no one alive who will ever harm you again.” I’ll make sure of it.
I grow menacingly excited about the prospect of what lies ahead.
