It was pretty intense, but there was another one just below it that was worse.

I want to know everything about how you did it. I understand everything you felt, I feel as if I have so many of the same feelings. I keep going to O’Kelly’s, sitting in your seat, thinking about each of your kills moment by moment. If I’d been there, I want to think that I would have killed them exactly the same way. I feel a kind of connection to you, something special. You might be in prison now, but your work will go on.

“I think I’ve found someone,” Paige said, feeling quite confident this time. “Isaac Coleridge. Judging by the address on the letters, he’s from D.C.”

More than close enough to be the one doing this.

“I’m checking him now,” Christopher said. He typed for a few seconds. “His name is on the visitor records. He came to the prison to speak to Lars Ingram. Not just once, but a couple of times.”

That fact made excitement start to build inside Paige. They had a man who had come to speak to Ingram, who had praised his work, who had expressed a wish that he could be there beside Ingram while he killed. A man who had been to the prison to speak to him multiple times, which suggested that it wasn’t just a case of him showing up and being sent away by Ingram. They’d had something to talk about, and Paige could imagine exactly what that was.

“You think this our guy?” Paige asked Christopher, wanting the confirmation that she wasn’t imagining how bad this looked for Isaac Coleridge.

“I was about to ask you that,” he replied.

“I think he’s definitely a suspect,” Paige said. “At the very least, we need to speak to him.”

“I agree,” Christopher said. “We’ll head over to Isaac Coleridge and find out exactly what his role in all of this is.”
