Her eyes lit up. “You want me naked?”

He laughed. “I always want you naked, Nordskov. Always.”

EPILOGUE

“I have to go, Hue,”Mandy whispered but knew it didn’t sound genuine, even to her. Because it was all a lie. Hue had her pinned to the wall and was kissing her bare shoulder, heading south. Knowing where he was going made her never want to stop him.

Except they were in the church, in the little room where the wine was kept. Years ago, she had wished she had the nerve to come in here to try that wine. Now she wished she had the nerve to let Hue continue until the ache he had stirred up was extinguished. Which was a far worse activity than stealing a little cheap wine in this room.

“Nobody is stopping you, Nordskov.” He nipped at the swell of her breast, making her gasp.

His hand was trying to find a way under her dress, which was going to be impossible because the shiny white fabric went all the way to the floor. With a frustrated groan, she helped him by lifting the fabric herself. After all, she was an independent woman who knew what she wanted and went for it.

Instantly, his hot hand was on her leg and snaking its way up. “Mandy, you look amazing in this dress, but I want it off you. Now.”

“Too many buttons, we have to work around it.” She pushed her chest in his hand, bodice and all. It had to be enough for now.

Tonight, she would let him take the dress off her any way he wanted, and that included ripping it from her body. Which was what he was planning, and that was before this little make out session even began.

Today was their long-awaited wedding day—if by long it meant two months, because that was how long the town had known they were engaged. Most of the actual wedding stuff had been planned by the book club and her mom since she was busy with the baby and getting back to work.

When they had first said they were getting married, the plan was a quick ceremony at the courthouse. But her mom wouldn’t hear about it, saying they could just as easily get married at the church. Which was true.

Then the dress she wanted wasn’t “wedding-looking” enough, so she, Kit, Julia, and their mom had gone dress shopping. Amanda was sure it was more for Kit, who was sure that Thomas would pop the question soon. Everyone was sure since they had bought a house recently, in Landstad, even if neither worked here or even planned to. This was their home.

It was only then that she just said yes to everything. She didn’t have the energy to fight it, so she wasn’t going to get her way.

After dropping the baby off with her mom, she had come up here to talk to Hue because she didn’t believe they couldn’t see each other before the wedding. In fact, she needed to see him. Even if she had woken up beside him, she needed to reassure herself this was real. And boy, it was real.

“Do you need these panties?” Hue’s hand cupped her over the mentioned item.

In her head, she debated the actual need for them. Get married with a bare butt or with panties in front of the entire church. Nobody would know, right? “It’s my good luck blue item.”

Her words came too late as she felt the fabric tear from her body and his fingers replace fabric. Trying not to moan, she knew they didn’t need luck to make this last forever; it was a sure thing.

“Try not to make noise, Nordskov.” He sank to his knees between her legs.

“Holy fuck.” It was exactly what she was going to say, but it was her brother saying the words from the door. Math’s hand was already covering his eyes as he slammed the door shut.

Instantly, Hue dropped her dress and fell flat on his butt. Grabbing the shredded blue panties from the floor beside him, he shoved them in his pocket, grinning as he did it. “Try knocking, Math.”

“We’re in a church—keep your pants on.” Math lowered his hand and scowled at them. “And with my sister. I should have killed you when I had the chance.”

“Grow up, Math.” Amanda straightened her dress and tried to act like her brother hadn’t messed up the best part of the entire wedding. No matter how old he was, he would always be her stupid little brother. “You know that Hue and I have sex, live together, and have created a child together. And you are not one to talk. You got a woman you barely know pregnant. At least I knew Hue when he got me pregnant.”

“I’m not listening to this. We had an agreement that I would never have to hear, or see for that matter, what happens between you two. In my mind, you have bunk beds.”

“And who gets the top bunk, Math?” Hue asked in confusion.

“Mandy, because she would have called it the first night and never let anyone else have a turn.”

“Don’t worry, Math, Hue likes being on the bottom just as much as I enjoy being on top. But to make you feel better, just this morning, I let him be on top. He seemed happy, very happy.” Mandy grinned at her brother, who slammed his hands to his ears and started to hum loudly.

“See you at the altar, Mandy.” Hue kissed her, way more PG-13 since Math was in the room.

“I’ll be there in white.” She touched his cheek and couldn’t wait to see him again, even if it would be in front of everyone.

Smiling, she headed out the back door and into the summer sunshine; the day had turned out gorgeous, not too hot, not too cold, and all sunny. As if her mom had ordered up the weather, which Dolly probably did.
