He’d woken up looking for Harper after dreaming she had her hands on him. Tipping his head back, he let the water flow through his dark hair and added some shampoo. By the time he put the conditioner in, he was gritting his teeth.
Go down, for fuck's sakes.
Daniel reached for his cock and groaned. He knew well the feeling of her hand around him and the way her warm mouth felt as she took him deeply. Reluctantly, he stroked himself with a mix of regret and desire.
Would he never feel her in his arms again?
Would he never sink deep inside, feeling that rush of pleasure while their eyes held?
Her clit. Her swollen breasts.
Daniel squeezed his eyes and moaned as he released into his hand.
“Fuck, Dufort,” he growled at himself. “You cannot lose this woman.”
What was Harper doing right now? Did that lovesick asshole have his hands on her?
He brushed his teeth and spat into the marble sink and hissed. He leaned on the counter and took long, slow breaths.
Buzz, buzz.
Daniel pulled his phone out of his jeans pockets and saw Josh’s number. Fuck, he hoped the guy had good news. He swiped to open the text.
Dufort, let’s talk over a secure line when you are free.
I will be back in New York in a few hours.
Okay. I’ll meet you by the Maine Monument in Central Park at 10:00 p.m. Alone.
As creepy as it sounded, Josh’s message lifted Daniel’s spirit. It was possible the black ops security team had some information which may assist in stopping Mackenzie. Then they’d only have a media fall out to clean up, but his team was totally capable of dealing with that.
In any case, it was the senator who had jumped the gun. An obvious attempt to put pressure on them, and one that would hopefully backfire on him.
Daniel had grand visions of sitting in front of the asshole, telling him he’d failed.
See you then.
He pocketed his phone and stepped out into the main cabin, throwing his winter coat and scarf over his arm. Gone were his shorts and t-shirts he wore in Hawaii with Harper.
He had some big fucking decisions to make.
One thing at a time.
First Mackenzie.
