However, I felt like that wasn’t the case. She also seemed to recall meeting me elsewhere. Did both of us experience a simultaneous Déjà vu? Well that was so important at the time because I was thinking about Hunter.
I noticed that he changed when I talked about sleeping with Alyson. If I’m being honest, I was a little disappointed at myself too. But as I thought about the previous night’s event, I realized that Hunter only got intense when I mentioned that fucking her was a natural thing to do.
“You look lost,” Michael said as he took a seat next to me, “Working on anything?”
“I was going to assist Aria with some work," I replied, “But, she’s with her mom.”
“Speaking of which, I still can’t believe the stunt you pulled this morning,” he laughed, “Walking in while she held on to you for support. Then there was the other time where you impersonated someone and he showed up.”
“The last part is kinda like a past I don’t want to remember,” I groaned. “I’m sorry hehehe." He tried his best not to laugh anymore, “So, what’s wrong?”
I contemplated telling him about my problems but he seemed beneficial to resolving one of the problems at the moment. The problem was Aria Wolfe; and word was they were both best of friends.
“Are you aware about the rumors concerning Aria?” I asked.
The smile faded and he let out a deep breath, “I’ll assume you are talking about her sex drive and how she’s slept with everyone?”
“Umm… yeah.”
“Why are you asking though?” He searched my face almost as if to answer his own question.
“Well, I have feelings for her,” I admitted, “but the rumors seem to be impeding my decision making."
“You really shouldn’t listen to rumors,” he started, “Is what I would’ve said if the rumors weren’t true.”
“So, she has actually…”
“It’s not easy to swallow huh?” he asked as he folded his arms, “So what are you going to do?”
“Honestly speaking, I want to improve my relationship with her,” I said, “And if possible, become theonly person she has eyes for.”
“I’m glad you both think that way.”
“Pardon?”
“Don’t worry about that, I was just spit-balling,” he said, “So how do you plan to become her number one? Not to bring down your enthusiasm or anything but she is one of the mostinfluential people around. You might need to be on equal footing with her.”
“I don’t think I need to be on equal footing with her,” I said.
“Why? What do you mean?” he asked.
“Well it’s not really about who becomes at the top in the relationship by financial status or anything,” I explained, “I think what Aria needs is someone that can make her feel… weak… or tamed.”
“Aria? Tamed? You might be a little wrong there, Nick.” He chuckled, “Aria is like a flame that cannot be doused.”
“Apart from the ones in hell, there are no flames that can’t be doused,” I said.
“That was pretty deep,” he said as he typed down the quote.
“But I understand where you’re coming from,” I sighed, “It will take some time but I have to start making my dream a reality.”
“Your dream?”
“Yeah, I plan to become one of the best graphic designers in the state,” I said, “Part of the reason I wanted to work here as an intern was to help me learn the basics. When I had learned enough, I move on and start working remotely with my roommate as a freelancer. Then get a physical building afterwards.”
“That’s not a bad dream. And for a 19-year-old to have a detailed plan, I must say I’m impressed,” he was beaming with smiles which made me feel all tingly inside.
“Well, I’m adjusting the dream now,” I said.
