“Maybe you picked up a thing or two from all the porn you’ve been watching?” He nudged my shoulder.

“Yeah… maybe.”

He was quiet for a moment then placed his hand on my shoulder,

“A bad case of Déjà vu my friend, pay it no mind.” I nodded.

“Good,” he patted me on the shoulder, “Now head out there and fall in love completely.”

When I arrived at the office, everyone was busy. Well, it was election season, and Loid wasn’t our only customer. I heard from Mr. Michael that all the branches of Wolf Pack were in charge of virtually all the political party’s graphics for each location. Word in the office was this was going to put us in the billion-dollar margin. I still couldn’t wrap my head how Aria rose to this level so quickly.

“Good morning, ma’am,” a team member greeted as Aria walked in.

“Good morning. Where’s Michael?” she asked.

“He stepped out for a meeting with some of the clients,” he replied.

“I see,” she replied and turned to me.

“Good morning, Miss Wolfe,” I greeted.

“Ah…. Mmm… Good morning, Nick." She looked away and rubbed her arm. Maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me, but I think she was a little red.

“Are you okay ma’am?” the team member asked, “You look red, having a fever?”

“No… I..” She looked a little flustered.

Oh, a fever?

I got up and placed my hand on her forehead,“He’s right, you’re a little warm, would you take the day off?”

“No,” She hit my hand off her head. When she realized what she did, she looked worried, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to do that. I’m fine.”

“No, I’m sorry about that Miss Wolfe,” I apologized, “That was my fault for overstepping.”

“No, I, ahem,” she cleared her throat, “It’s no problem. You meant no harm.”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah.”

The silence was long and… awkward.

“Well, I’ll be in my office,” Aria said, “You can come over when you’re done here.” “Ah, yes sure.”

“Right.”

She left while holding her cheeks. I guess that seals it?

“That was… awkward,” the team member said, “Did anything happen between you two?”

“No, it’s nothing maybe she was just having a bad day,” I replied, “So what are we working on next?”

“Oh, yeah, so the rally is this weekend…”

He talked about what we had to work on but my mind was locked on Aria Wolfe. I pulled out my glasses and put them on,

“So that’s how it is.”
