Somehow, between the water and the slickness of our bodies, we made it work and found a rhythm together. I felt the pressure building and when I fell over the edge as I fucked him, Ben groaned and joined me with his own release.
I stilled as he came, letting my euphoria wash over me as I pressed my mouth to his. Ben wrapped one arm around me and the other slipped into my hair as we kept kissing while we both recovered.
I pulled away from him as he kept holding me in his arms, shivering from the way he made me feel. “You feel so good.” He told me as he held me against him, panting. “That was incredible, Avery. Something I’ll never forget.”
“Me, neither.” I smiled as I pressed my face into his neck above the water, loving the feeling of being in my big man’s arms. “Can we stay like this for a while? It’s just what I need.”
“Sounds perfect to me.” Ben held me as I relaxed against him, feeling my body relax after one of the best orgasms of my life. How did I find three men that make me feel so good in their own ways? I knew I wasn’t leaving Ben’s side tonight as we sat in the bubbling water, wrapped in each other’s arms.
I remembered the wine he brought out for us and reached for it, taking a slow sip from the glass. Ben smiled at me as I offered him some, drinking from the glass as I tilted it up.
When the cold started getting to us, we wrapped up in towels to go inside. He grabbed his clothes on the way into the cabin and I dried myself off once I was inside, taking my wine to sit by the fire.
Ben chuckled as he sat beside me, pulling me into his arms. “I’ve never had such a great night on call before.” He reached for his phone and checked it with a smile. “Not that I’ve thought too much about it.”
“Naughty, naughty,” I teased Ben as I leaned into him, kissing his jaw. “What if something happened?”
“Luckily, I’m just the last resort. The staff handles the minor things that happen for guests.” Ben smiled and stared down into my face, looking handsome in the light from the fire. “You staying here tonight?”
“Yes,” I replied, pressing closer to him. “There’s no place I’d rather be.” We stayed by the fire for a while, warming up inside of the room as I let the peace wash over me, comparing it to the busy life I led in New York.
The only quiet times I felt like I had were when I dropped into bed for a few hours for some much-needed sleep. Even with Simon, we didn’t have a lot of quality time together. It was all about work and all about the restaurant. He even failed at that, not to mention the relationship I looked back on with clear memories of not being happy.
I forced him out of my mind, knowing that Simon had nothing to do with my life right now. This was all Ben now.
We made our way to bed later, naked and warm after our time in front of the fire. I slipped under the sheets with Ben, smiling as he kissed me and pulled me against his body.
We made love again, rolling around the bed as he made me come around his cock as I rode him hard. I dropped over him and took a deep breath as I closed my eyes.
Ben cleaned me up, and we settled in to sleep, but it didn’t come easily to me. I watched him sleep, turned to face me with his arm over my waist as if he never wanted to let me go.
How could I walk away from this man?
I didn’t remember falling asleep, but I woke up to the sound of my phone vibrating on the nightstand beside me. I gasped and reached for it, meaning to silence it before it woke Ben up. His phone stayed quiet all night and there was no reason for him to wake up yet.
I felt a sense of dread when I saw the name of the restaurant owners on the screen. That was fast, and I suspected I knew what this call might be about.
I slipped out of bed and stepped into the main room to take it. “Hello.” I murmured as I made my way to the couch.
“Avery?” Leanne asked cheerfully on the other end of the line.
“Yes, this is Avery. Good morning.” I greeted her, wishing I’d grabbed something to pull on as my nipples pebbled in the cooling air. The fire had died down over the night and I pulled my knees to my chest.
“Good morning. I’m calling to offer you the job! We love what you’ll bring to our restaurant and look forward to welcoming you to the team.”
Oh, my God. This was everything I’d ever wanted for years, but right now, all it did was make my skin run cold. I must have stayed quiet too long, because Leanne’s voice broke into my thoughts.
“Avery? Did I lose you?” Leanne asked as I blinked quickly.
“No, I’m here. Just surprised. Can I have some time to think about it? I’m visiting family for the holidays out of town, and it’s been busy here. I didn’t think this would happen so fast.” I lied about my reasons, hearing whispering on the other line.
“We’ll give you until the end of the month, Avery. We’ll need an answer before the end of the month.” Leanne replied as I nodded before remembering I was on the phone.
“That’s perfect. Thank you so much.” We ended the call with holiday well wishes and I walked into the bathroom quietly to take the robe from the back of the door.
I returned to the couch and stared at the fire, lost in thought. I had a few weeks to make a decision that would change my life forever.
On the surface, it was an easy yes. The restaurant was already well known and doing well. The locations were in some of the best areas of the city, one of which was within walking distance from my apartment in Brooklyn.
