“Okay, how about a ‘report’ feature?” She looked through the site’s FAQs and terms and conditions, and the only option they gave was to report to the police any illegal activity. “A great lot of help you are.”
She decided the best thing she could do was deactivate her account and delete the app. She had no use in her life for a program that cared so little about whether or not they hosted liars on their site. But even when the little icon disappeared from her home screen, she wasn’t satisfied. Bryce was out there, ready to try to hoodwink the next single woman. It wasn’t fair. They deserved to know exactly who he was.
“Hmmm. Maybe this stupid dating site won’t do anything to warn other women away from his scam, but I sure can!” Sara said out loud, her magic swirling just under her skin, begging to be used.
Normally, she wouldn’t even bother with such a thing, seeking petty revenge on a person whom she had caught in a multitude of lies, but there was something about Bryce that seemed dangerous to the women he sought to be around.
And she couldn’t do anything about Rhett’s actions, so she might as well do what she could.
Sara printed off Bryce’s picture from the dating site and gathered her supplies, candles, salt, and a few herbs. She went to her spell room and quickly poured the salt into a small circle on her worktable. She placed Bryce’s picture in the middle of the circle and tossed a few herbs on top of his image.
Sara thought long and hard about what she wanted to do to teach Bryce a lesson. She didn’t want to harm him physically or anything like that. She wasn’t that kind of witch. No, what she wanted to do was something harmless enough, but that would make him think twice before he lied again.
The spell had to be something simple. Something easy yet effective. A lightbulb clicked on above Sara’s head, and she giggled when the perfect punishment popped into her head.
“Ha! That should teach him a lesson,” she laughed, and got to work, chanting:
When he lies with his fingers, let them burn from the effort.
When he lies with his tongue, let his throat bubble and burp.
Sara felt her magic rush through her veins as she poured her energy into the spell. She couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face as his picture ignited in the circle of salt. She knew without a doubt it would work, and any time Bryce tried to tell an untruth, he’d be delivered a reminder that would make him think twice.
