His hand squeezes slightly and I have to keep my body from reacting. Not letting it move closer to him or to imagine his hand sliding up farther. And as if he is reading my mind, he joins me by relaxing back into the cushion, causing his hand to move up a couple inches.
I keep my gaze straight, trying my best to not let my astonishing amount of lust show through my facial expressions.
“I would love to take you to dinner sometime,” he says to me.
His head is turned towards me, and his mouth is mere inches from my ear, the heat from his breath making mine hitch. I turn my head slightly, just enough so I can look into his mesmerizing blue eyes.
“I would like that.”
“Next Friday?”
“Sure.”
He pulls his phone from his pocket, taps his thumb on the screen a few times then hands it to me.
“Can I have your number?” he asks.
I take the phone from his and punch in my name and number, click save and hand it back to him.
“Perfect,” he says.
Chapter Four
Lily
“Youtworeallyseemedto hit it off last night,” my sister says to me as she waddles her way into the store.
“I wouldn’t sayhit it off, but he seems nice and respectful.”
“Two things a man should be.”
“This is true, but we will see.”
“Are you two going on another date?”
I nod my head and my cheeks heat. “We are going to dinner.”
“Where at?”
“Not sure. I gave him my number so I am assuming he will text me with more details.”
“How exciting,” she replies. She comes over to me and boops my nose with her finger then starts singing.
“Lily and Vance sitting in a tree, k i s s i n g.”
“If you weren’t pregnant, I would punch you.”
“Oh your names sound so nice together.First comes love, then comes marriage.”
I hold my hand up to her face and glare at her. “You can stop right there. It’s only a first date.”
“Fine, fine.”
I walk to the front of the store, flip the light on and unlock the door. I hear my sister suck in a sharp breath from behind me, and when I turn to look, she is bent over holding onto the counter. I get to her quickly and put my hand gently on her back.
“What’s happening? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
She takes a deep breath before standing slowly.
