He lifts my hand to his mouth then places a soft kiss on it.
“That’s all I’m asking.”
“Dad, I found one.” I hear his son say and I pull my hand away quickly.
“Look, it’s bright red and fuzzy. The tag says it calms them. Who doesn’t want to be calmed in bed,” Arthur says with a snort.
“It’s perfect. Why don’t you put everything up here. We will check out and then grab some lunch.”
His son nods his head then loads everything from his arms onto the counter. I ring them up then hand the bags to Arthur.

“I’ll text you and we will make dinner plans,” Ethan says.
“Okay.”

“Wait...thehotvethasa son?”
“Yes!”
“Did you know before yesterday?”

“You’re right.”
“I know.”
“Oh, God, shut up.”
My sister laughs like an evil queen. Then I hear my sweet niece start to cry.
“Ugh. Motherly duty calls. I’ll talk to you later but don’t not try just because of his son.”
“Okay. Thanks sis.”
“Bye.”
“Bye.”
Give it a shot, huh? That’s what I should do? I can do that. There is an obvious attraction between us, and we do like a lot of the same things. But how does dating even work when you have a kid? Will Arthur know he’s going on dates? How should I interact while I am around him? I have so many questions and really...there’s only one person who can answer them.
Me: I think we need to talk
