“I don’t want to be away from you, but I also don’t want to leave my Jeep here.”
“I understand. We’ve waited this long. What’s another half hour or so.” he pulls the keys from his pocket and pushes the remote start. The car beeps twice and fires up. I look over to the parking lot to see what he’s driving.
“You got a Jeep!” I say and my body wants to inch its way over to it. It’s newer than mine. I wanna see.
“I had to see what all the hype was about.”
“And?”
“I totally get it. It’s a lot of fun to drive.”
“Told ya,” I say in a very matter-of-fact way. “I’ll follow you.”
“Ok.” he says and softly kisses me one more time.
When I get to my Jeep, my nerves finally calm down a bit. I have been high-strung for weeks. It took all my strength to not drive back to Montana.
I’ll admit though, part of me was scared. I hadn’t ever fallen for a guy like I did for Grayson. I honestly didn’t think I had it in me to love someone, let alone have someone love me.
A part of me ran away from him. From that life. Staying in one spot for too long caused nothing but issues. At least, that’s what I thought growing up. Traveling was all I knew.
I knew when I gave Grayson that penny, I was almost sealing my fate. I knew deep down that I was ready to stay, and when I left,
WHEN YOU'RE READY

I wanted nothing more than to go back. Back to the fun we had together, the nights we spent working side by side. Back to the chemistry that was so strong, people could see it without us even talking to each other.
So, a part of me, also needed time. Time to work through my fear of settling down. I still want to travel, and I think Grayson will too, but it will be nice to have a place to call home.
I park next to him at the hotel and admire our Jeeps next to each other. They can be friends for now.
We make it to the elevator, and Grayson has his lips on mine. We have quite a bit of time to make up for.
He lifts me, and I wrap my legs around his waist, and he carried me to the hotel room.
“The top pocket on my bag has the key.”
I feel my way to the zipper and pull it out. I lean back a little and swipe the card.
He pushes us through and kicks the door shut. I drop the key on the dresser as we pass it.
Then, he lowers me onto the bed, our bodies still close.
“We aren’t rushing this, are we?” he asks me My core twitches at the thought of him not being inside me.
“No, absolutely not.” I shake my head and he nods his.
He pushes off the bed and drops his backpack, removes his shirt, then unlaces my boots and slides them off.

I sit up and take my shirt off and throw it at him. It hits him in the face, and he slowly grabs it. I chuckle softly.
“Real cute, Munchkin.” he says and swoops down on top of me.
