Why was he avoiding me so carefully?
What was I, the damn plague?
“He woke up when she was changing because she was screaming, but passed out as soon as he saw that she was alright. It hasn’t been more than three days since he bit her, and with how long he was hunting, he’ll be out at least a week. Probably two or three.”
Shit.
For two or three entire weeks, the dude on my lap would be asleep? And I would be stuck to him, or the wolfy body-snatcher would cause me excruciating pain as she took over?
Great.
Abso-damn-lutely great.
“That’ll make it easier to feed her,” Ab-guy said, opening a bottle of the drink. “You and Dax will have to do it though, so we don’t piss off her wolf or any of our females.”
Dax must’ve been the name of the other guy who had been in there with me and Elliot.
“Del’s on her way over, though?” Elliot checked.
“Much to Rocco’s annoyance.” Ab-guy grinned. “Ebb and Tea are putting money on how long it takes June’s wolf to try to rip her pregnant throat out.”
Elliot snorted. “No female wolf could ever attack a pregnant one. I should get in on that bet.”
“Del already bet that.” Ab-guy said, still grinning.
