Aspen
I leftAdeline with a bowl of soup at home. She smiled at me as I got ready and told me to have fun with a sly grin as I walked out the door. I just laughed but the whole drive over here her words kept circling in my head.
I’ve been treating this as a death sentence but the truth is I could be killing two birds with one stone. I’ll get the money for Addy’s surgery and I’ll get to lose my pesky V card.
I’ve never been on a date before and I haven’t even been kissed. Tonight could be some fun with two men that I find attractive. I’ll get Adeline’s money and some life experience for myself. Finally, have that fun that everyone is always telling me to have.
The driver of the car the boys sent for me is silent on the drive over, although he did tell me that his name is Jack. We don’t drive for very long before he pulls up outside of a nice townhouse. This wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. I guess I was picturing some fancy hotel, not their home.
Jack pulls over to the curb and I wait while he comes around to open my door before stepping out and walking up to the front door. I ring the doorbell once before stepping back and waiting. I don’t have to wait long before the door bursts open to reveal Roman and Flynn standing there, dressed casually. I hear Jack drive away as they usher me inside.
Their house is clean and decorated in that typical bachelor style. Leather sofa and armchair, dark wood, and sturdy furniture. I look around the hallway and front room trying to take it all in. I bet you could fit ten of my apartments in their whole house. I take one more look around before my eyes turn back to them.
“Hey.” I say.
“Hey.” They say in unison.
I laugh at that and watch as both of their faces soften.
“You look gorgeous.” Flynn says and Roman nods in agreement.
I watch as both of their eyes run over me, taking in my black half-boots, blue skinny jeans, and loose green tunic. It’s nothing fancy but since I’m counting this as my first date, I thought I should try to dress up a little bit. After seeing them so casually dressed too, I’m glad that I didn’t try to find something fancier. I figured they would care more about what was under my clothes than what I showed up wearing.
I should tell them that I’ve never done any of this stuff before. I want them to know what they’re paying for. As I go to open my mouth though, the doorbell rings behind me. I look behind me as Flynn steps past me to answer it.
“That would be dinner.” Roman says as he offers me his hand and leads me further into their place.
He takes me into a modern kitchen and over to a kitchen table that’s tucked into the corner. He pulls one chair out for me as Flynn comes in carrying a couple bags of food.
“Hope you like Italian.” He says as he sets the bags down on the counter and starts to put food onto plates that Roman hands him.
Flynn carries over the food as Roman asks me what I want to drink. For a second, I think about asking for wine but I decide at the last minute to just stick with water. Roman carries over three glasses of water and sets them out too and then they both take a seat on either side of me, scooting in close enough for me to touch.
Flynn’s leg brushes against mine under the table and suddenly I’m hungry for something besides food. I need to tell them, I think. Roman and Flynn both pick up their forks and start to eat and I can’t hold it in any longer.
“I’m a virgin.” I rush out and if I wasn’t so nervous their reactions might actually be funny.
