Chapter 13

Abby

Ican hear their fakelaughter through the open window. It’s all for show. A statue is more funny and entertaining than those prissy girls down there. But they continue to act like they’re interested in everything they have to say, but that only gets them talking more. It’s an endless cycle of bullshit.

The night for me and my guys has been fun. Leo passed out an hour ago, something about all this fresh air on Earth giving him more energy in the day, but makes him crash harder at night.

Zed excuses himself to the bathroom, giving me a kiss on the cheek before he goes.

A round of goodbyes from the girls has me up and moving to my balcony. Leaning on the railing, I look down to see the guys kissing the girls goodbye as they leave with the crowd of people who attended their sad party.

How can you even call that a party?Crappy music, no food, soda to drink, and they all just sat there.

“No more parties for a while,” Isaac sighs, running his hands down his face. “I fucking hate doing this.”

“Then why do we keep doing it?” Luke asks and shakes his head at the look my stepbrother gives him. “Never mind, I know, to keep them happy.”

“It’s the only time we really see them outside school anyway, it’s not a big deal,” Isaac insists.

“Whatever you say,” Noah says, as he starts to clean up, his back to Isaac.

“Are you seriously still mad at me?” Isaac asks, his voice raising.

“At you?” Noah says, looking over his shoulder. “No. But I am with this situation, you know where I stand.”

“What do you expect me to do?” Isaac shouts. “It’s not just my dad who wants this.”

“But what you don’t seem to get is, Noah and I don’t care as much about what our dads want compared to how you feel when it comes to your dad,” Luke says, stepping closer to Isaac. “Sure, we hate the idea of disappointing them, but Isaac, we're fucking immortal. Do you really want to spend the rest of eternity being with them?” Luke asks, lifting his arm in the direction the girls just left. “Being with people we don’t love? Waking up every morning and having to put on a mask, hiding what we really desire? I can’t. There’s only so much more I can take of this before I say fuck it all,” Luke tosses something in the trash, then takes off into the house.

“Luke!” Isaac calls after him.

“He has a point,” Noah says as he passes Isaac. The look Noah gives him confuses me. Pain? Longing? But about what, and why?

Isaac lets out a harsh sigh, then sits heavily in the lawn chair, putting his face in his hands. His shoulders slump, and he looks defeated. A part of me feels bad for him.

But why the hell should I? He’s been nothing but an ass since the moment I got here.

You know what it's like doing something because it's what your father wants, Abby. Not wanting to disappoint him.

But the difference is, I’m going to do something about it. I’m not sure what, or when, but I don’t plan on giving up my happiness to please my father. I have two mates who already adore me. I never felt this happy and loved in my whole life. I’m finally able to be free, for the first time in my life.

Like Luke says, we are immortal. The idea of giving up Zed and Leo, or making them live in Hell with me so I can do a job I never wanted, that I know for a fact I won't be good at, gives me a hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach.

As if he can sense me watching him, Isaac lifts his head from his hands. His eyes lock with mine. So many conflicting feelings flash through them, ending with pure venom. He sneers at me, making something deep inside me ache.

Shaking my head, I take a step back. What the hell was that?I rub my chest at the phantom pain and head back into my room.

“There you are, Little Bird, I thought you flew away and left me,” Zed says from his spot on the bed.

I smile at him and shake my head as I crawl back into my spot between my mates.

“Never,” I promise, snuggling back under the blanket. Laying my head on his chest, Zed wraps his arm around me, holding me close as he kisses the top of my head. “Sleep tight, love, I’ll keep you safe forever.”

IWAKE UP SANDWICHEDbetween two very warm bodies with very large erections pressed into my legs. What the heck?Opening my eyes, I grin and bite my lip to hold in the giggle. Leo and Zed have shifted down in the bed, using my breasts as pillows.

They look so peaceful, I hate to wake them up, but the need to pee is strong. Threading my fingers into Zed’s raven black and Leo’s golden blond locks, I gently massage their scalps.

“Mmmhhmmm.” Leo lets out a throaty hum of approval. “That feels nice.” His voice is deep and full of sleep, making him sound sexy.
