Chapter 10

Abby

Promising to tell Pennyeverything later, I say goodbye, eager to get Leo alone to talk. My body is thrumming with excitement, and I’m so glad today is a Friday, meaning I don’t have any afternoon classes. I would burst if I had to sit through a few hour classes before I got to be alone with Leo.

“So, you wanna tell me about this Zed person?” Leo asks, pulling me to a stop as we exit the school building.

Looking around, I find too many prying eyes. “Not here, I don’t need these nosy people knowing my business. Come on, I know somewhere we can go.” I grab his hand, biting my lip as a humming pleasure shoots up my arm. I don’t know how I went so long without touching him because this feels amazing.

We stop in front of my new car. I lied and told Veronica I liked to get to school earlier than the guys did, so I’d need my own means of transportation. She could have given me one of the many cars in the garage, but she said they were the boys’ fathers’, so she called up a car dealership in town and told them to give me any car I wanted.

Now, I could have taken advantage of the situation and got one of the nicest fancy cars there, but that's not who I am. I don’t want expensive crap just because I can. Even with the card, I only get what I need. The clothes I have are fairly priced from discounted stores. The only things I use it for on a daily basis is for food, when I go out with Penny, or buy something at school.

So, I took one of the cheapest cars they had, ignoring the salesmen who only saw me as dollar signs because of who my mother and stepfather are, and got myself a cute little, mint green Volkswagen Beetle.

“Get in,” I say, nodding towards the passenger side.

“Abby,” he laughs in disbelief. “I’m six feet tall. There’s no way I'm going to fit in that,” he says, pointing to the car. He might be right. This car is the perfect size for me, being barely over five feet.

“Oh, you will be fine, just squeeze in.” I giggle, opening the car door, trying to hold back my grin as he groans but does it anyway.

Once I’m in, I start the engine and look over at Leo as he leans into the car, giving me a slight glare before he climbs in. And by climbing in, I’m talking about squishing his tall frame into the car, just barely getting the door closed.

I can’t hold my laugh anymore. The sight of him with his knees up to his face, his head slightly bent is just too much.

“Laugh it up you little shit,” Leo says, his own laughter taking over. “You're lucky I love you, or I’d be really pissed right now.”

My laughter dies as his words sink in. Looking at him, I blink rapidly as a wave of emotion that I've spent so much time holding back washes over me.

“I love you too,” I whisper, his eyes growing hooded.

He tries to lean in, but his body doesn’t budge.

“Damn it, Abby,” he huffs. “A moment like this makes me wanna kiss the Hell out of you, but I can’t fucking move.”

Grinning, I move to kneel on my seat, bringing my head up to his. I cup his face with my left hand, and kiss him hard, making him groan against my lips.I’m getting good at this whole kissing thing. All the practice with Zed is paying off.

“You know, this kissing thing is new, and I've got to say, I don’t hate it. We should do this more often,” he says playfully, and I bite his lower lip, his eyes flashing hungrily.

“I can make that happen.” I blush, moving to sit back in my seat. We pull out of the parking lot, heading towards the graveyard.

“Great, now I have a hard-on,” he mutters. Looking over, I see a blush matching mine, and I can’t help but feel the way I used to when we were just trying to get used to the whole bond thing. But knowing we don’t have to avoid each other's touch anymore has me excited for change.

We park the car in the parking lot and get out. Leo stretches out his muscles, groaning like it's the best feeling in the world, forgetting all about his still hard erection. My eyes dart down, widening when I see the size of it. I forgot how big he was.

“Abby,” he says, desire in his tone. “I can feel your lust, and it’s not helping with the situation.”

My eyes snap up to his. “Sorry,” I say sheepishly, turning around and heading in the direction of the stone gazebo, knowing he will follow.

“This place is beautiful,” Leo says as he walks around the structure.

“It’s my favorite place up here,” I say. The beach is my second, but I haven’t spent much time down there. I should change that because I love to swim, and the water is always so warm and relaxing.

“I can see why.” He steps inside, taking a seat on the stone bench.

Needing to get this off my chest, I rip off the bandaid. “I wanna apologize.”

“What for?” His brows furrow in confusion.
