Wow! Happy to hear! Well, if your status changes, let me know!

Krissy scoffed. Making sure her status didn’t change was now a priority for her.

Dream on, Maya.

She deleted the message.

That night, while sitting on her sofa, dressed in her pjs and eating ice cream that was loaded with miniature peanut butter cups, Krissy wondered if the planets were aligned in some fucked-up way.

All day long, more of her fuck-buddies had been texting her, wondering if she was free tonight, tomorrow or the coming weekend. The problem was, because she had already deleted all those names, she had no idea who was texting her. After typing out the same message she had sent to Maya three times and sending it to three different women, she finally copied the message onto her phone’s clipboard. Good thing too, because she ended up needed it twice more before she quit work for the day.

Her phone chirped again now. Seeing the message, her jaw dropped.

Seriously?

Another one! Why were there so many horny women wanting to get with her now?

Fucking planets…

Krissy copied her boilerplate rejection message, sent it and went back to watching Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief. How has nobody made a lesbian version of this movie yet? Perhaps with Cate Blanchett as the master cat burglar and Emily Blunt as the heiress.

A moment later, her phone chirped again.

Who are you kidding? You are not going to change. Whatever! When you realize who you are and get over her, hit me up and we’ll do our thing.

Krissy felt her blood boil.

Bitch!

She wished she hadn’t deleted all those names now so she could know who this psycho was! She was about to Google “How to retrieve deleted contacts on iPhone” when her phone rang.

Becca.

“Hey,” she answered, delighted. Becca’s twenty-four hour shifts at the fire station sucked—at least for Krissy; especially now that they were a couple. It had sucked knowing that when she kissed Becca goodbye at seven-thirty this morning that she wouldn’t be coming home this evening to have dinner with her and to fall asleep with her at bedtime.

“Hey,” Becca replied. “What are you doing?”

“Watching To Catch a Thief,” Krissy answered. She’d leave out the ice cream part—especially as she was eating it directly out of the container.

“Hey, what about Naomi Watts as Robie and Jessica Chastain as Frances?” Becca said. They had watched this movie together a dozen times.

“Not bad,” Krissy began, “but I’ve already decided on Cate Blanchett and Emily Blunt tonight.”

“Oh, that’s a good one,” Becca agreed. “So, what’s wrong?”

Krissy smiled. Becca knew her.

“Do you have time?” she asked.

“Things are quiet now,” Becca answered. “We just had dinner and I’m out in the parking lot walking laps.”

Krissy gave Becca a recap of all the contact purging she had done today. She also mentioned her—admittedly unscientific—determination that the planets must be lining up in a screwball fashion because women were coming out of the woodwork tonight.

“Fucking planets,” Becca quipped.

“But I’ve told them all that I’m now unavailable!” Krissy hurriedly added.
