“I have a bad track record when it comes to dating men,” she said. “And I’ll acknowledge that a lot of it is my fault. I tend to go for looks and not substance. Actually, let me amend that. I tend to go for looks and then hope the substance is there. Unfortunately, in my case, I always pick the guys who have zero substance. Therefore, when it comes to working on relationship problems…”

“Like not coming during sex,” Ainsley interjected.

“Right. When it comes to those things, I’ve never felt bothered. Now I’m kind of mad at myself.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m twenty-nine. Because I’ve been having sex since I was sixteen. Yet in all these years, I never once thought to myself, ‘Hey, stupid, why don’t you start doing something different when it comes to picking men?’”

“Well,” Ainsley began, “you’re certainly doing something different now!”

Rachel laughed and it felt so good because during the brief review of her sexual history that she had just given Ainsley, she had started to feel a little down.

“I certainly am,” she purred, giving Ainsley a quick peck on the lips. “Tonight has been amazing!”

“Mm, it has,” Ainsley also purred.

Rachel narrowed her eyes.

“You’re not just saying that, are you?”

“Oh, because you’re a newbie?” Ainsley asked with a devilish smirk.

“Don’t tease, please!” Rachel replied with a laugh. “I really want to know if I made tonight amazing for you.”

Ainsley brought her hand up to stroke Rachel’s cheek.

“Rachel, you made tonight amazing just by answering your front door when I arrived and then letting me spend every second with you since then.”

Rachel gasped and her heart went boom!

“Fuck!” she exclaimed. “Sexy and romantic. But answer the question, Dr. Janowicz!”

Ainsley laughed.

“Let me put it this way,” she began. “That little trick you did when you hummed while sucking my clit? Be sure you keep doing that.”

Rachel smiled.

“I’d like to tell you that was just pure lesbian instinct but the truth was I couldn’t help humming. You tasted so fucking good.”

Now it was Ainsley who gasped and Rachel noticed Ainsley’s hip twitch.

Rachel smirked.

“Ooh! Did I cause a reaction?”

Chapter 18

The beeping started just as Rachel placed the plate of food in front of Ainsley the next morning.

“Shit!” Ainsley exclaimed, getting up from the table and going to her purse, which she had brought from Rachel’s bedroom into the dining room with her.

“Holy crap, is that a pager?” Rachel asked when Ainsley removed the small black device, silencing it and reading the tiny screen. “Those still exist?”

Ainsley laughed.
