“I know,” Ainsley said.

“We definitely should go.”

“We definitely should.”

“So let’s continue this in the limo,” Rachel said.

But Ainsley wasn’t going to let Rachel off that easily.

Pulling away slightly so that she could look down at Rachel’s lovely upturned and flushed face, Ainsley asked, “And what does that mean?”

Grinning up at her, Rachel said, “It means I’m hungry and I want to continue this on our way to food.”

Ainsley cocked an eyebrow.

“Mm,” she began, “is that all?”

“Nope!”

Ainsley rolled her eyes.

“Fine. Just as well; I’m starving too. Hey, let’s have a piece of chocolate each!” she suggested, stepping away from Rachel.

“Oh thank god, you said that!” Rachel stated. “I have been dying to have one since I picked them up!”

Laying one of the boxes down on the table, Ainsley removed the clear plastic shell which encased the collection of chocolates and selected the piece with the first letter of her name. She then picked up another piece and handed it to Rachel.

“Ready?” she asked, lifting the candy to her mouth.

“Fuck yes,” Rachel answered, doing the same.

They bit into their pieces at the same time. Ainsley felt her knees go weak.

“Oh my fucking god!” she exclaimed, her eyes rolling back in her head. “This is so fucking good!”

Rachel was actually banging on the table, her body contorting like she needed to pee really bad.

“Holy Jesus, I could eat this whole box!” she said.

“Plan B,” Ainsley began, after taking the last bite of the delectable square. “We stay here and eat all this chocolate.”

“I have wine and coffee,” Rachel said around another mouthful of candy.

“All we need is a cat and you’ve just described Lesbian Nirvana,” Ainsley said.

Chapter 15

After Rachel grabbed her purse and a light sweater in case she got chilly, they left her house.

God, she was soaked! After their long embrace in the dining room, when Rachel had almost passed out with the strength of her desire for Ainsley, she had considered telling her guest to wait a few moments so that she could retreat to her bedroom and put on a more practical pair of panties. But she opted not, wanting instead to get in the limo with Ainsley in part because, yes, she was hungry and anxious to get to the restaurant, and in part because if she was going to make a fool of herself, she’d rather be in a neutral location like a hired car than in her own house.

“You remember where we’re going?” Ainsley asked the driver, who had come out to open the back door for them.

“Yes, ma’am,” he said.

The interior of the limo was as sumptuous as Rachel imagined it would be. And it was big enough for an entire bachelorette party to make use of, which was the last time Rachel was in a limo, when her friend Lucy got married in L.A. And even though there was more than enough space for her and Ainsley to sit comfortably apart from one another, Rachel wanted nothing to do with that and snuggled right next to the doctor, who put her arm around her shoulders and pulled her in closer.

“God, this is awesome!” Rachel said, checking out the appointments in the luxury car. “Such a good idea! You’re spoiling me already!”
