getting her name tattooed on my forehead, I don’t know how I
could have been dumber.”
“You trusted her. What she told you. It’s not your fault.
You’re a good, kind person with a huge heart and tons of
compassion. She was your best friend, your first crush, and
your first love. You had a ton of firsts with her. She took
advantage of that.”
Quinn nodded and the real depression set in. Why did
hindsight always have to be so twenty-twenty? Why couldn’t
the future ever be that way? Maybe not the future, but the
somewhat immediate present. She could use some insight
when it came to that as well.
At least she hadn’t gone and got any crazy tattoos. The
thought of Dallas’ name in big block letters arching across her
forehead did make her want to smile, because at least she
hadn’t been that silly. No, that would have been the worst. It
made what she’d already done look pretty watered down in
comparison.
The ding that went off scared Danica and Quinn. They
both kind of jumped in place.
Quinn took out her phone and stared at the screen. She saw
there was a text from Dallas. She didn’t want to open it and
read it, but with Danica sitting right beside her, staring at her,
she felt like she had to. Maybe her sister could give her some
advice, or at least talk her out of doing something stupid again.
When it came to Dallas, all Quinn could do seemed like it
could go straight under the category of #badmistakes.
She opened the text and read it.
