as she was, but she couldn’t seem to stop.

Chapter 14

Dallas

It wasn’t dread that Dallas felt when she arrived at the

bustling flea market. Yeah, maybe it is dread. She was worried

about seeing Danica again. She’d be surrounded by her

friends. Quinn would be there to pad the blows, should they

land, but Dallas was still worried. She was assuming there

would be both blows and that Quinn would be going to bat for

her, but she realized there was a slim chance she could be

wrong about both.

It was a bit of a trip to see that the flea market still looked

exactly the same. It was held in the same venue outdoors, on

the edge of the city. There was the same neon orange snow

fencing surrounding the huge area. The same little stand at the

front where you paid your two dollars to get in and got a stamp

on your hand. The same style set up where people brought

their own folding tables and chairs. As far as flea markets

went, it was probably one of the largest in the state. Row upon

row upon row of vendors waited inside. The crowds were

thick, since it was fairly early on a Friday morning.

Dallas wondered how Quinn was able to take another

morning off work, but then she remembered what Quinn said

about her job and how she hated it. While she might feel guilty

about taking time off, Dallas was almost certain that Quinn
