“Yes. If they’re not, I’ll let you know. Here.” Quinn

spotted Dallas’ phone on the night stand. She grabbed it and

tossed it to her. “Let me give you my number.”

Dallas gave her a strange look that made Quinn’s heart

flutter. She hated that she was going and getting so freaking

far ahead of herself that she couldn’t not trip and fall on her

face the way she’d tripped on the sidewalk outside of the

lawyer’s office, but she couldn’t help it. Just like she couldn’t

help coming here today. Was it so obvious to everyone but

her? Her freaking brother knew her better than she knew

herself. Or maybe he knew that she was a bad liar and that

she’d never believed her own lies when she told herself that

she wasn’t all kinds of everything when it came to the broad

spectrum of emotions at Dallas being back.

Quinn listed off her digits and Dallas put them into her

phone. She looked at Quinn questioningly after. Quinn resisted

the urge to step forward and place a kiss on Dallas’ cheeks. Or

maybe her lips. Her nose. All over. She wanted to kiss Dallas

everywhere. Again. Instead, Quinn settled for what she hoped

was a reassuring smile. She put on her best don’t worry,

everyone is going to forgive you and it will all be fine

expression and let Dallas show her out the door.

Dallas looked like she was holding back on some of the

things that she wanted to do too, and that made Quinn feel

slightly better about her own lack of control.

She didn’t want to go, but she had a lot to do this evening,

starting with her parents. Then she’d have to figure out a way

&n

bsp; to ask Danica if it was okay if Dallas crashed her party and the

flea market deal, which would no doubt involve her explaining
