basic facts—one, Kiera Winson wasn’t into women, two, she was the boss
of the place and workplace romances often went south real fast and she
really wanted to keep her current job, and three, she was in seriously no
mood for more rejection or emotional and physical anguish—Romi’s hands

She was relieved when she reached the bottom of the box and instead of
getting a new one, Wynn informed her that for the next few hours they were
going to be meeting with potential and new vendors. As long as she kept
busy, she wouldn’t have time to think all the thoughts that had no business
even going through her brain.

Kiera
Even though Kiera was looking forward to getting back to the store after
an exhausting seven days of picking, she was less than enthusiastic about
walking in the door Monday morning. Not that she didn’t like Mondays.
Mondays were just fine. She truly loved what she did. The store was a
passion project. Most days it didn’t feel like a job. She loved picking too,
even if it did wear her out. She was just…painfully out of sorts.
It was why her hands shook when she grasped her coffee mug. It was
why her breathing was all over the map. Her legs didn’t feel like jelly from
a week of hard physical labour. The anticipation welling up inside her,
nearly cutting off her throat and twisting her insides, didn’t have a single
thing to do with work-related issues.
There were no work-related issues.
Okay, well, that wasn’t completely true. There was definitely one. In the
form of one ridiculously beautiful brunette by the name of Ramona
Belleview. If Kiera didn’t know better, she could have sworn that Wynn had
indeed done this just to work her up. While he didn’t know she was a
