“Hey,” I growl at him. “Knock it off, or I’ll give ye a kick up the backside. Leith and I wanna see ye succeed. Keep yer grades up at the Academy. Nae funny business or Leith and I will talk to Mam and Da.” Leith and I had decided to back off our plans for an intervention, thinking a change of schools might help the idiot.
The fecking devil lifts his mouth at the edges, and he gives a two-finger salute. “Will do, bro.”
We’re turning around to join the group when Mrs. Flowers exclaims, “Congratulations on your new baby!” Chevelle rubs her flat abdomen.
Justice heads over to me, hips swaying. “Remember when I dreamed of fish this morning?” Justice asks, referring to the old wives’ tale. “Looks like Mia’s gonna be a big sister.”
I snort. Justice had me up to feckinghigh doh. She’d threatened my life if I consumed a crumb before buying the pregnancy test at Walgreens.
“Feck. Thank God, it’s them.”
“Yeah,” she nods her head, nestling into my arms. “But can you do me a favor?”
“Wit?”
“If you’re gonna cuss—”
“Ye cuss too, Justice.”
“Listen,” she bites out. “No saying the Lord’s name in the same intake of oxygen as your cuss word. Please and thank you.”
“The shite I put up for ye, lass.” I give her a bear hug, one that just about crushes her lungs. Her breasts plaster against my chest, and my hand reaches down to squeeze the ever-loving daylights out of her arse.
“Brody,” she growls.
“Yer da’s not looking.”
“Oh.” Justice sinks into my love. I could hold her like this forever and never let her go. But one day, maybe a hunner years from now, maybe sooner, I’m gonna put a bairn in her belly and watch her beautiful body grow and create another MacKenzie.
The end.
