“Henry,” she crooned.
“Mmm?”
She lifted her head from his chest. He looked up at the most gorgeous woman he had ever set eyes on and had no idea what he had done to be blessed with such a gift. It made his eyes glassy.
“I love you so much,” she murmured. “I didn’t think I could ever love, but here we are.”
Henry pulled her in close, their mouths meeting again for a quiet, passionate kiss. He urgently moved his hands all over her body like it was a sculpture, wanting to take her in, memorize every valley and curve, and never let go.
When they eventually parted, they showered together, then spent the rest of the night in each other's arms, talking. The feeling her smile and laugh gave him made his heart seize in his chest, a feeling that he once thought merely destroyed him.
But she made him whole, and that was something he would be thankful for, for the rest of his life.
