Chapter Five
Triss
I don’t know how long I slept for, but when I finally woke, I felt my three alphas curled around me. I felt the bond beating strongly in my chest. I could feel their every emotion and knew they could feel every single one of mine. Instinctively, I knew it was a special bond, just between the four of us and no one else would ever know what it was like. Now that I experienced it, I couldn’t imagine life without it. I felt complete. As more time passed, each of the three of them threaded further into my soul until our four hearts beat as one. I could feel savage Lothgar, harsh Ravick, and fearless Garret, all at the same time, each as powerful as the other. For a moment, I took a deep breath and just felt. I felt truly alive for the first time in my life. Caught in the grasp of the city, forced to suppress my omega nature, I hadn’t been living. I’d been a captive in my very own body.
I’d heard whispers about the bond between an alpha and omega, but nothing could have prepared me for its strength. It pulled me to them. I had no doubt that if the four of us were separated, that the bond would yearn for their return, that it would be painful and upsetting until we came together once more.
I should be angry that they forced the bond on me, but I wasn’t. In fact, I felt lucky to have the three of them as my own. Three independent alphas and only one me. We’d bonded for life. All three of them had chosen me.
Their heat pulsed around me, keeping me warm. It made me feel safe and protected.
As I opened my eyes, I took stock of the painful soreness in my limbs. I felt so incredibly sore. Each hole felt used to the fullest and my muscles trembled still from the nine orgasms my alphas had forced me to experience as punishment for my defiance. I sighed happily as I thought back on the past few hours.
As terrible as it all had been, it had also been wonderful too. My inner walls fluttered, and my pussy tightened just thinking about it.
I kind of hoped they would do it again.
Their eyes opened to meet mine and I smiled at them. None of them said anything. It was almost as though they were waiting for me to speak and instinctively, I knew what they wanted from me.
“Thank you for punishing me,” I finally whispered, my voice so soft that it was barely audible. All three of them began to purr for me and as their pleasure washed over me, all I could feel was their warmth and happiness. The sound of their purring lulled me into an extensive state of relaxation. It felt warm and comforting, like a massage or climbing into a heated bath. The bond between us pulsed and nothing had ever felt more perfect than that moment.
I’d pleased them. I’d made my alphas happy.
With a contented sigh, I curled into their arms and fell asleep once more.
Everything was perfect. Even if I was doomed to be a scientific specimen for the rest of my life, at least I had my three alphas.
I was complete.

The next time I woke, my three alphas were pacing up and down the room. The bond between us flickered with their anxious frustration and it made me uneasy. The room was dark, and I guessed that it was sometime in the middle of the night. They whispered between each other and a glimmer of movement outside the glass viewing window flickered at the edge of my gaze. My head turned to study the shadows in the night.
I narrowed my eyes and tried to figure out what I had seen, but the shadows were dark and soon, I convinced myself that my vision was just playing tricks on me. No one would be here in the middle of the night. Especially not down here.
The shadows shifted once more and I stilled, trying to figure out if I’d lost my mind or if I was actually seeing something out there.
Then in the tiniest glimmer of light, a slender woman’s form slinked into another shadow. And then another. The more I watched the female form move, the more certain I became that someone was out there.
“Did you see that?” I asked quietly and my alphas turned to face me, their expressions laced with confusion and their agitation. I knew it wasn’t directed at me, but it made me anxious all the same.
“See what?” Garret answered, turning his head to meet my eyes. His yellow eyes studied mine, his brow furrowing just the slightest bit in confusion.
A small flame flared to life in the darkness and Ravick growled low in his throat. Then the tiny blaze simmered and flickered, before exploding into a giant wall of fire that roared, the deafening sound causing the glass window to shatter into a countless number of pieces. I tried to push myself up, to make it over to my alphas before whoever was out there came for me, but I couldn’t move fast enough.
In almost slow motion, I watched as the female form lifted her arm and pulled a trigger. Then I saw red darts fly through the room to pierce into my three alphas’ throats. Less than a few seconds later, they collapsed to the floor. I whimpered with fear, turning my head back to the window. Who was this woman and why had she come for me? For us?
My bond pulsed weakly, feeling the heartbeats of my alphas and I was comforted by that. The darts must have been tranquilizers and not poison meant to kill them. My alphas were still alive.
As the smoke began to clear, the woman came into focus.
Her hair was so blonde that it appeared to glow in the dim light. She wore it pulled back into a loose ponytail and her icy blue eyes captured mine. Her gaze was intense, angry even and quite fierce. A thick metal band circled her throat and I narrowed my eyes as a central red light blinked within it. She was wearing a black leather vest that dipped low in the front, revealing the white skin of her breasts. Black leather pants and a thick belt complete with guns and other various weapons completed the image of a woman not to be trifled with. She looked ready for combat at a moment’s notice.
I swallowed nervously. What the fuck was this?
“You’re Triss, correct?” she ventured, her voice as strong and smooth as I imagined it would be. Speechless, I just nodded, having no idea why she was here or what was happening or even what the hell she’d used to shatter the bulletproof glass that had held me captive.
“Well, if you’d like to escape the depths of Genwell, you’re going to have to come with me. Now,” she commanded as she pulled her shoulders back, making her seem taller than she was. Her courage was palpable.
