I set plates of eggs and toast in front of them and make London one as well, then I start on his lunch. He isn’t really fighting anymore, but he keeps up a regimented diet when he’s training someone. And I know Memphis will be there, so I throw in extra.
“Thanks,” London says as I hand over the lunch I prepared for him.
He finishes eating, setting his plate in the sink, and I follow him to the door.
“I shouldn’t be long,” he says, turning to face me, and for some reason, I want him to kiss me.
“Okay. I won’t start dinner until you’re home.” Look at me, sounding all domesticated with a man.
He stares at me with concern. “You okay?”
“Yeah.” I shrug. “Just like I said, confused.”
“Do what makes you happy,” he says, then he leans over and kisses me right below my ear. I almost grab him, needing more. What is wrong with me?
“Okay.”
London leaves to go to his gym, and I head back inside to go over my stock in the basement. I wave to Snow as she and Ariel retreat to the study.
I’m left alone to think about the kiss.
