“Bossy much?” I chuckle.
“Oh, Mister, you have no idea,” she snickers.
“I like this attitude,” I say as I tear my shirt over my head and toss it on the floor.
I lay on my stomach as she sits on my ass and starts kneading my shoulders, lightly kissing my neck. I close my eyes to enjoy this.
“Sweetheart, this feels so nice,” I hum as she works out the knots.
I’m glad I can do this for you,” she kisses my back one more time before climbing off.
I put my shirt back on just as the front door opens and Thorn walks in, staring at his surroundings.
“This is awesome,” he yells in excitement.
“Do you guys want to order in?” I ask now that he’s here.
“I don’t care,” Briar shrugs.
“Thorn?”
“Can we order in and watch a movie?” he asks, hopeful that I want to veg out as well. He’s in luck, I don’t want to move.
“Sounds good to me,” I hand him the room service menu and tell him to pick out whatever he wants.
“Briar? Beer or wine?”
“Beer,” she says.
“Can I have one?” Thorn asks.
“I don’t see why not,” I say as Briar gives me a look.
I hold my hands up, “What? He’s not driving and it’s almost Christmas.”
“You are so getting it later,” she mock glares at me.
“My bad. Did I get you in trouble?” Thorn laughs as I dodge a throw pillow.
I laugh as I put in our order in as Thorn picks out a movie to watch.
I take a seat on the couch and Briar lays her head in my lap and we settle in.
Thirty minutes in, there is a knock on the door. I pat Briar to let me up.
“I’ll get it, you guys just keep watching.”
I open the door expecting room service but no one is there. No one or nothing, except a note.
‘Your time is running out. You will lose it all.’
Lane. He didn’t sign it but it’s him.
How did he know we were here? Oh wait, he’s been here before. Stupid me.
I step into the hallway so Briar won’t hear and I dial his number, ripping the note off the door.
“Ready to hand her over?” he greets me.
