“I like you, you make me happy. I’m happy you’re here with me,” I tell her.
“Me too,” she says softly.
My heart breaks a little bit. She must have heard what Lane said and it is messing with her head. I haven’t told her about her apartment, but I know she thinks it was Lane who broke into the house.
I will make Lane pay for this, all of this, for hurting her.
She’s yawning by the time we get out of the tub. I wrap a towel around her and dry her off and lead her to the bed, she crawls under the covers and is out.

I feel safe in his arms. So safe that we sleep through Sunday.
I know it was Lane who broke into his house. I’m not scared. I should be but I know Kingston will keep me safe.
I know I don’t have work today. Kingston called Marge and got me a few days off from work. I don’t mind.
I think I’m having lunch with his sisters today, across the street from the gym where he can watch out in case something happens.
I’m falling for him. No, I’ve fallen for him. He’s been great to Thorn as well.
