I don’t know what this means for her—hell I didn’t know what I was bringing her out here for, to be honest—but I know what it means for me. I can’t tell her that tonight because I don’t deserve to get what I want with her just yet. Not after the asshole assumptions and petty way I behaved towards her.

Without discussion, we make our way out of the woods. Before we reach the yard again, she takes my hand in hers. I still don’t know if it means the same thing to her, but I sure like it. I feel connected to her, tethered to the world because of her, and I sure like that.

Back at the firepit only Mona, Marshall, Chantel and Baker remain. Our vanishing act is not mentioned. Boomhauer doesn’t even seem to mind as he sits by the fire enjoying treats.

No one seems shocked we come back holding hands or that when I take a seat, she takes one on my lap. I smell me on her, and my arms go possessively snug about her. We stay until the fire is almost out and even then, I'm not ready to let her go.

‘Take me home, handsome,” she whispers at my ear as she kisses my neck and shimmies her ass on my lap.

“To my home? Because you won’t be leaving if I take you to my place, babe. Not for a few days at least,” I warn with a growl as I slide my hand between her thighs.

“To wherever you want to take me, Keegan. Our night is young,” she teases, breaking off on a moan when I pass my fingers over her bare slit.

Her panties are tucked in my pocket, my memento of the night. I think maybe I don’t need a token, though. Because as we say goodbye to the others and head out, I realize she meant what she said.

Our night is young. My witchy woman is not done working her magic on me.
