I nodded again.
“At the same time?”
I shrugged. That was one of the things we hadn’t quite worked out yet. I certainly hoped that would be in my future, but I couldn’t tell. And I wasn’t willing to risk the entire relationship if one of the guys wasn’t interested in a foursome. I would have to bring it up delicately at another time. Right then, I was more focused on getting my hooks into Sean.
“I’ve met Kent,” Petra said. “And I think I’ve met one of your other guys. Someone came to the bakery to get bagels.”
“Oh?”
“Tall guy, red hair, beard and mustache.”
“That’s Sean,” I said. “He’s the only one I haven’t been with yet.”
“You’re so lucky.”
I paused to consider her statement. She was right: I was lucky, and I knew it. There was no law in the universe or in our society that said that three handsome older men had to share the affections of a single woman. Yet Damien, Sean, and Kent had elected to follow my lead. I wanted to make sure that I did right by all of them.
“When can I meet them?” Petra asked.
“We’ll all have to get together one night,” I replied. “They're all a bit grumpy, but I’m sure you’ll get along. Damien is really a big teddy bear, and Sean is a scoundrel. Kent, well, he’s very…domineering.”
“I can’t wait,” Petra said.
“If you bring cupcakes, I don’t think you’ll have to wait long,” I advised.
“You’re falling down on the job there.” She pointed to my half-finished cupcake.
I laughed and continued my hack job until they were all ready to be eaten.
