I hesitate to put all of your eggs in one basket,I wrote. If you would like to buy the pharmaceutical stock, may I suggest an equal purchase of technology? We need to balance out the holdings with something in a different industry.

I looked at the email critically. One of my clients wanted to transfer his entire retirement package into stock in a particular company. He had a tip from a friend of a friend that it was going to blow up. He thought he would make a fortune and didn’t see a downside. I did.

They paid me to safeguard their finances, and that’s what I was doing. Meara interrupted me by stopping by unannounced. She knocked on the door but didn’t wait for me to invite her in. I watched curiously as she entered the room, pushing the door shut behind her.

There weren’t locks on the office doors, but that didn’t stop her from examining the knob, looking for some sort of fastening device. I wanted to say something, but she popped up a moment later and shrugged.

I had half a mind to say something stupid, but I stopped myself. It was abundantly clear what was going on. She had only one purpose in mind. I didn’t think this kind of thing was going to happen in the office, but it looked like I had been mistaken.

My head was buzzing with questions that refused to voice themselves. What are you doing? Are you sure you’re okay with this? Who put you up to it? I hit send to get the email off my plate and out into the world. That done, there was nothing stopping me from engaging in whatever amazing activity Meara had planned.

She crossed the room with purpose, sliding her way between me and the desk. I backed up to allow her to pass, watching excitedly as she took a seat atop my desk. Gazing up at her, I saw the thing that I had been waiting for ever since the party. She was ready, willing, and able.

Reaching up, she undid her ponytail, allowing her long tresses to swing free. She wore a respectable outfit of slacks and a blouse, nothing that would indicate an adventurous streak. Spreading her legs wide, she made space for me, leaving no doubt what she had planned.

I stood up, eager to be on equal footing. She smiled, sliding her fingers up my sleeves. I caught my breath. I wanted this, but I had to make sure that it was really happening. It felt like something out of a dream, as if I had wished for this moment so hard, I was creating a fantasy out of nothing.

“What’s up?” I asked casually. It was a stupid question, but I had to be sure. I was dangerously close to losing myself and needed to know that we were both on the same page.

“I think it’s time to take a break,” she soothed, reaching for my tie.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” I asked.

“Very sure.”

“What about Damien and Sean?”

“What about them? Damien’s the one who sent me in here.”

“He is?” I blinked. I would have to thank Damien when we were through. A gift basket or maybe a prized yacht wouldn’t be out of the question. He’d just handed me the very thing that I had been aching for. “What about your sister?”

“She’s fine,” Meara said, getting comfortable on the desk. She pulled me in close, her fingers impossibly delicate against the silk of my necktie.

“And you’re sure Damien is okay with this?”

“He said he was. I told you I wanted to date you.”

“Yes, but—” I started, unsure where I was going. I wanted her more than ever, but I still couldn’t wrap my head around this whole sharing thing. Were we really going to have a foursome where no one got jealous and we all had equal access to our woman?

“Don’t overthink it,” she said.

“But you turned me down,” I reminded her.

“That was before,” she replied. “I’m not turning you down now.”

“I can see that.” I gave up trying to figure it all out. She was there, on my desk, almost in my arms. By all appearances, she intended to make love to me right then and there, and I was up for it. My pants became tight at the crotch, and I knew that she had me right where she wanted me.

Putting a hand on her thigh, I allowed myself to sink into the realm of pleasure. Her muscle was firm and soft, exactly as I pictured it. The fabric of her pants left little to the imagination, thin almost to the point of transparency. They weren’t designed for warmth or protection but just for appearance.

Tracing the curve of her leg from her knee to her hip, I marveled at the slip of lightweight polyester. She pulled on my tie, bringing me in for a kiss. I lowered my lips to hers, and it felt like they had never left. We were just resuming the exchange that had been interrupted in the conference room.

She seemed like a sweet young woman, but all along she had a devilish side to her. Taking on three men was a big accomplishment, and I was about to prove that she might have crossed the line.

It wasn’t going to be exceedingly gentle. I was an animal in bed; every woman I had ever been with told me so. Once I got my hooks into her, I would leave her panting, well used and satisfied.

It was my first time in the office. There had never been a secretary or a colleague I was interested in before. It felt almost irrational, as if by agreeing to it, I was crossing a line. But since Damien and Sean were both aware of our interesting arrangement, I knew that no one would stop us.
