For a fleeting moment, she wanted to be that tiny droplet, kissing his warm skin. She swallowed loudly.

The wild pulse in her neck thrummed when lowered the glass and wiped his jaw with the back of his hand.

“Why didn’t you show up tonight? I like to meet my customers expectations, so if there’s a reason you didn’t go, then I’d like know,” he asked, locking his narrowed eyes with hers.

There was no point in being honest. It would only serve to feed his ego and she wasn’t prepared to be another notch on his bed post, even if her body ached for him.

The flutters between her legs grew as his avid gaze trailed the length of her bare legs. She knew the real reason why she stayed at home.

How the only man who caught her attention was standing right in front of her. In her kitchen. With those entrancing green eyes and dominant countenance.

She couldn’t trust herself with him or be a huge sexual disappointment. His presence alone made her feel impulsive and out of control.

Marcus McGrath was standing before her, with musky cologne teasing her senses and a devilish half smile awakening her libido.

A man who wasn’t her boyfriend.

“Like I said, I wasn’t feeling well.”

“And now?”

“Much better.” Her lips drew in between her teeth and she nodded casually. “I’m just a little tipsy.”

He ran a hand over the dark hairs covering his strong jaw. “I had hoped to see you in the club.”

Her gaze dropped to her toes. The intensity of her heart slamming against her sternum, begging to break free from her tight ribs was making her woozy.

She wanted him to touch her. And worst of all—she craved him with every shred of her being. More than any man she’d ever met.

Her principles were in tatters. Something dangerous was growing inside of her, awakening her sexual curiosity.

He’d created a monster within her.

Marcus moved further into the room, closing the distance between them, staring at her intently. “Were you trying to avoid me?”

He reached out and padded her chin with his fingers, tilting her face as he leaned in.

She sucked in a gasp, thrilled by the jolts of sin his slight contact created. This man was trouble, teasing her closer to the edge.

“Maybe.” She swallowed back the adrenaline.

Without warning, Marcus wrapped her waist and jerked her hips into his groin. Her moan seemed to please him. Enough to cover her mouth with his.

The instant hunger vibrating between them was charged. She willingly surrendered by parting her lips to give his inviting tongue access.

He’d stolen a kiss. Now she was at his mercy and loving every second of the forbidden passion unravelling in her core.
